PERFORMANCE PROBLEMS WITH FLOWMASTER AND K&N

I installed a flowmaster 40 series and a k&n filter and did the filter box mod. My wife has been driving it the past 2 months and now when i get in it i can't lay rubber at all.I hear about people laying two nice black marks but mine will not. I have the big tow package only.

I can squeel them around a corner but not from a dead stop. I have the VDC turned off. I heard about this ABLS system but how do you turn it off. I really can't go into the dealership and say "hey my truck doesn't peel out anymore". Anybody else had similiar problems. And please don't say i twas my wife driving it because she is the one that told me it doesn't burn rubber like it used too!!!

Thanks in advance.

Well my local speed shop didn't recommend the 40 or 50 because you might experience a loss of low end torque, don't know how true this is.

What series Flow....

I have the 40 series delta flow now. Which series would still give me the horses but without sacrificing the l.e.t.....

Also, is anybody noticing the paint coming off of the steering wheel where the radio controls are???

Well I doubt the 40 robbed any horses, probably gave you a few actually. You probably lost some low end torque. I bought the 70 series, and the speed shop agreed that would preserve the low end. I haven't experienced any loss that I can tell.

I agree w/ Sammy. You can add a K&N AirCharger and get another 20 rwhp/rwtq which would help regain any lost tq and them some.

I'd say disconnect the computer overnite and then try it. You should be back to square one with a reset. It won't remember about the muffs and filter. If it don't go then, something else is wrong....juma

When you say disconnect the computer, does that mean just unhook the battery, or does that include somethin else?

That sucks cuz you lose all your settings... especially the seat presets. Those take forever to get perfect.

The homelink retains its settings, so at least you don't have to program everything.

try letting it reset for a LONG time, at least overnight (longer if you can).

after installing my exhaust, my check engine light came on and i disconnected for a few hours and light was still on, i let disconnect for about 24 hours, light went off and hasn't come back on since.
