Window off tracks, 2nd time
Found out why my window has jumped off its tracks, twice. It has only happened when I have closed the door with the window down inside the door. This has only happened twice since I have owned the truck. It was only when I used the key fob to lower the windows (only the fronts go down on my truck) from outside the truck because it was like an oven inside the cab. When I would get inside the truck and start it up, get the AC on MAX, and then close the door, ....I could hear the window move around inside the door when the door was closed. Then it would get bound up on the weather stripping that seats the window and keeps out the wind noise. It would go up 1/2 way, then go down. Then it would not work at all. Then I would restart (reboot) the truck, and it would go up 3/4 of the way. Then the switch would die. Then I would restart the truck again and it would go all the way up, but slow, with labored rubbing of window seal.
Also, unrelated to the door closing situation, rear passenger window was making sounds like metal cables straining or rubbing glass.
Called service, they got me in. On way to dealer could hear wind noise from affected window (front driver's) right about where the outside mirror was. Could see the glass was not seated properly inbetween the two rubber seals like it should be. 1 hour 10 min later the service desk guy says, "the tech has written a report to Nissan about what you think the problem is (window jumping off tracks when door is closed and window is down in door) and he thinks you are right. This is your 2nd time and we have had 2 others with this problem. Also the back window is making sounds like the regulator is going bad. We have ordered a new one and will put it in for you when it gets here".
I guess I will not be closing my doors with the window down as long as I own this truck. I will put them down once inside the cab to let out hot air. Not digging this at all.
