Dealer Lies - Unable To Service Titan - No Equipment

I have a new CC with 1,200 miles on it and I dropped it off for the day with a list of items to be fixed, one of which is that the steering wheel was at 1:00 and they where going to correct it by checking the allingnment. I get a phone call and I am told that they want me to come back after I have put more miles on it because the suspension needs to "settle". I go on to explain the obvious - that to drive a brand new vehicle out of allingment is not acceptable for a number of reasons (one of which is smoking the tires at my cost) and that it is a huge inconvenience to bring the vehicle in therefore I would appreciate it if they just take care of it now. Service manager says no - he can't do it because Nissan will not pay for it I have to drive it longer -sounds like bs so I pursue it further and make some more phone calls. Turns out that they do not have the equipment to perform the allingment and that Nissan will pay for it under warranty if they had the equipment. They end up offering to take it to a local tire store and have it alligned. Local tire store is known hacks and I am sure I would be the first Titan they ever allingned and they have no direction from Nissan. I opt out. Not sure what to do. I guess I will try and find a dealer that can do an allingment. I do not understand how they can sell a vehicle that they are unable to perform "routine" maintenance on. The run around and lieing are the part that really gets me heated. Ahhhh I feel a little better now.

Since you don't say where you live, we cannot help you with the name of another dealer in your area.

Could let us know the name of the dealer you are having problems with as well so others can learn to stay away from them.

On other issues, I believe Nissan has reimbursed owners for work done away from dealership.

If they (your dealer) cannot perform the warrantied work that they are under obligation to perform then you have to go to another Nissan dealership within a reasonable distance. You also need to contact Nissan's consumer affairs and tell them what is going on which sounds like you already did. If none of the dealerships in your area has the equipment then I am almost sure they will need to reimburse you for service at a "reputable" service company of your choice to perform the work. I do not have any hard proof of what I am mentioning but just real life experience previously experienced on my part from a different manufacturer vehicle that I had before. I wish I could quote here but I read an article when I first got my Titan that a lot of Nissan dealerships are ill -equipped to perform proper alignments on the Titan and even service. The article mentioned that also the service bays and racks need modification to handle the largest vehicle Nissan ever made. If you do a search I think there was someone here or several on the forum who successfully underwent alignments. Of course that does you no good as that is not your dealer. What an unnecessary nightmare to go through! -- Keep us posted!!
