ticking sound from dash matching RPMs Anyone else have this?
When I accelerate, I can hear a ticking sound coming from the right side of the dash that seems to match the RPMs of the engine. Naturally, I first thought this was something like an exaust manifold or the like, but it's definitely from the dash. Kinda drives me nuts. Anyone else have this?

Yes, I have it and it is annoying to say the least! Might have to make an appointment with the dealer to have them check it out.

Sounds about like a zipper rattling on a suitcase? I hear it over the CDs. Took a long time to figure out it was speed sensitve, sort of SSR, ( speed sensitive rattle), but you can't use the C.R.A.P. controls to turn it off. Must be a new feature.

Good luck with the dealer. Mine has been in twice for it. The first time, they said the couldn't hear it. The second time I drove with them, they heard it, but could not determine where it is coming from. They called Nissan's tech line, but as of yet, no answer.
I too have the same noise from the right hand side of the dash. It does not make noise while in park (while reving the engine) or at idle, only while accelerating. It is most noticable starting around the 1800 RPM rang and does not go away with higher RPM.
I have been fighting this issue for a while now ~3000 miles. I have been to the dealer three times with no resolution. They have engaged the so called "Nissan tech line' (must be the same as Nissan customer care, cause no one ever has answers).
Things they've tried:
1. Disconnect fuel vapor purge valve- did not make a difference
2. active compression test while truck was in motion- results came up normal
3. Gazed into the Nissan crystal ball and tried to tell me "it's just normal engine noise" Well, it was not doing it when I bought it...and they could not show me any other Titan on the lot that has the noise.
Good luck on getting it fixed. Please post your results.
the ticking started yesterday at about 4500 miles. it sucks but yet another thing to piss me off, i love the truck but the little things are adding up. dammit. hope there is a fix soon.
Not to rain on the positive vibes. but a Nissan area rep has already deemed my truck as having "normal engine noise".
Don't look for a fix anytime soon (remember the radio issue and how "close" Nissan is to fixing that?) According to Nissan, as long as your piston rods are not hanging out of the block everything is fine and dandy.
My ticking started around 3000 miles. I am due for my first service appointment soon and I will give them a chance to evaluate. I usually have the CD's turned up and I don't hear the noise, but I want to make sure there is no damage being caused. My drivers seat has also started to creak which is annoying.

I also have the same ticking noise under the same condition, i.e., under acceleration or loan on the drivetrain such as going up hills. I initially thought the ticking noise was co-related to the engine RPM but determined not quite so. To me, it sounds like noise coming from sheetmetal... I'm taking my Titan to the dealership this Wednesday for various issues including this one. I'll keep you posted.
