Cruise control

My cruise control seems to jump going down a hill. I mean it comes and goes and you can feel it in the truck. Does anybody else have this problem?

Yes, I just got back from Laughlin NV, today and my truck would feel like it is surging. Only did it go down hills, only thing i can think of is when I took the truck out of cruise and tried to maintain the speed myself, the amount i had to push on the accelerator was VERY small, so the computer has a hard time making that very slight adjustment to maintain speed. Worked great all the rest of the time.

Check out the thread http://www.titantalk.com/showthread....ve+train+clunk. JetTech discovered a modification that sounds like your problem. Originally it was for the clunk when starting from a stop. The fix corrected that but JetTech also found that it did something while you were in cruise control - check it out - it worked like a charm for me.

When you're going down hill the TITAN is trying to
go faster than the cruise control is set for. Thus
you have the engine trying to brake the speed and
you get this surge sensation. I've had that in my
other trucks but it's more noticable in my TITAN,
however, I don't think it's serious but warrants a
mention at my next service. Maybe it can be "fine
tuned."

Dont use Cruise Control on hills. Also not good to use when towing!

I dont know if these are hard and fast rules - but they were taught to me many years ago.

Probably a sensor failure or something that's throwing out a code. Take it to the dealer and have them hook up the code scanner - that should pinpoint the problem.
