Angry titan engine blown

Just hit 18000 miles on my Titan and the thing died on me on the freeway making one hell of a racket. Towed to dealership on Monday morning where they tell me the engine has to be replaced, but a Nissan rep will have to come authorise the repairs. Today is thursday and no one has gone to see my vehicle. Oil was good ect. I have a fleet of vehicles and equipment to maintain, so no error on my end. Shop told me Nissan problably will hold me responsible. Any feed back would be appreciated.

How in the hell is Nissan going to hold you responsible for a blown engine at 18,000, unless you had some crazy mods going like nitrous and a blower.

I agree with Sammy man - You must have some mods on there or there wouldn't even be a question about holding you responsible.

So were you towing a trailer with a D11N at the time or something?

Are you thinking what I'm thinking? I mean.. uh.. I'm thinking what you're thinking. But before I jump to any conclusions, we've had similar incidents where the person was legit.

Makes me wonder if the whole story is being told - there was a guy here locally that said his Acura was a lemon, YET he had been racing it at an Acura sponsored event, so they were aware of him racing it. Apparently it was fine prior, but during the so called race, he blew something......tried to pass it off as Acura's fault that he raced it and blew the engine LOL

The whole story is how I said it. What wasnt mentioned was the fact that I had a can of diesel in the back of my truck. Some had spilled in the bed. The nissan mechanic told me he suspected I put diesel in the fuel by mistake, and told me to smell some fuel he pulled out of the truck. My diesel pump at the farm wont even fit in the hole to put it in my titan. He smells the spilled fuel in the back. I couldnt smell anything but gas in the container where he drained some out. As for how it happened, driving about 85 down interstate, went to pass another vehicle, truck died. End of story. Hell I didnt believe the shop at first when they told me my engine was shot. Oh, and I had a dodge before. 03 Hemi. Wouldnt hold a candle to how this truck preforms in any way. As for mods, only some subs, door speakers, and a couple of amps. Audio system is a piece of junk from factory.

So the shop just said the engine is blown? No further diagnostic or more specific details? I mean usually when something is so wrong with an engine that it warants complete replacement, there is a rod hanging out of the oil pan or a head blown off, or something major. Would it still turn over?

Also was told today that the Nissan adjuster wont ever come look at my truck until they get a fuel sample tested at Mississippi State University Lab. This sample will go out by mail this coming monday. That will be to the day one entire week with nothing done still. I may have to involve an attourney because that is absoulutely unacceptable. I have mud on my face now because everyone I have seen asks how I like my truck. My response has been that I have never been more satisfied with any other vehicle.
