HELP: Squeek from rear?

hey all, well still trying to figure out where my little annoyance is coming from i finally decided to rip the spare out from underneath the truck to try to figure out where my squeek is coming from but i still am not having any luck.

any other suggestions? it sounds like it's coming from maybe the leaf springs? i have no idea i'm very open to suggestions. i thank you in advance.

Mechanic or Doctor

reveille_83, When I read the title of your post, I thought that you might need a doctor for your "squeak from the rear" >

Check the leaf springs...

Have had the same annoying squeak for some time... The rear shackle (mounting bracket) on the left leaf spring was rubbing against the springs... Sprayed it with WD-40 and the squeak went away... I live on a dirt road, so it wasn't long before it came back... Will probably need to "persuade" it a little with the right sized hammer... Actually, there was enough space on the other side of the shackle, so adjusting it should permanently solve the problem...

I experienced the same thing. I can't find the location and come to find out the carrier bearing in drive shaft was loosed. It produced a rigorous vibration after ignoring it. The dealership replaced it. Just have the dealership check it out for you.

I had the same squeek and I too live on a dirt road. I took it to the service dept. and he said something like the leaf spring was rubbing on the coil and all he did was spray the leaf spring with some type of lubricant and of course the squeek is back. It looks like Im going to have to buy lots of spray on lub. oh well

I had the same problem and it was diagnosed as follows (by the dealership) Rear spring shackles rubbing, Correction adjusted Rear Spring shackles. This was performed a couple of weeks ago and so far no more squeaks!

I had the same problem on both sides. I used Tri-Flow. When it comes back, I'll try the BFH.

I had a terrible squeek that swore was coming from the rear of my truck, The dealer could not find it. I got home and started looking and found it. It was in the front!! The front bumper bolts were all loose!!!! Took it back and told them they tightened them all now cant hear anything but the 5.6!!!!!

Try to push down on your front bumper just to see.
Good luck.
