Back up sensors not working

I have read all the threads on here about how to fix it. The sounder works fine. The test gives me 1 high beep then 4 low beeps. That means outer right according to the chart. I have swapped the outer right with the outer left. Did the test and still shows outer right. Tried with an inner sensor and its still showed the outer right. So, the wiring connector looks good. I cleaned it with some contact cleaner and I can see the 3 pins in the connector and they are all the same length. I think I am good there. So where is the module that controls the back up system. I think i read it was under the back seat but I want to be sure before I go after that. I want to try to switch wires around at this module to see if its the wire to the sensor or the module input or the module itself.

Re: Back up sensors not working

That's why I want to find where the module is. I want to be able to meter out the wires. I don't want to start cutting of the wire loom.

Solved it yet? Mine turns itself off after backing a yard or so. If you then turn the T off and on it works again . . . for a yard. . Checked the wires but nothing. Ideas?

Re: Back up sensors not working

Like I posted earlier I have power to the unit as it will work for the first 3 seconds then turn off. It will even detect something behind me, for the first 3 seconds. I want to meter out the wiring but dont know where the other end of the wire is, control module for the sensors.

Re: Back up sensors not working

OK. The module is on the back wall passenger side above the rear locker module. I metered the wires going to the right rear sensor and all 3 wires are good. I swapped the sensors around again and it always comes back as the right outer sensor. I opened up the control box and nothing looks cooked. Its just a circuit card. Anyways now I am looking at where to buy the control module. Anyone got any ideas besides the dealer.

Re: Back up sensors not working

Alright guys the new part arrived today. They replaced part #28532-7s200 with #285320ZV50A. I went plugged it in and everything is working again. So to sum it all up I had a left outer sensor that kept showing as bad. I swapped sensors around at it still came back to the outer right sensor. Took a meter and metered the 2 wires and all were good. Only thing left was the module. I hope this can help someone else out too. I know this site has saved me tons of money on minor repairs. It's cost me plenty on mods though. I got the module from Courtesy Nissan.

" The module is on the back wall passenger side above the rear locker module. "

What is the locker module? what year is your truck? I took off the back uphostery and only found one electrical box to the left of the area where the power rear window comes down. Any help finding this damn thing is appreciated?

Ill try inserting a pic, is THAT the COntrol unit for the RSS?

Re: Back up sensors not working

Thats it. Now meter out the wires to each sensor and see if they are good. Be sure to check them for continuity and grounds to each other and the frame. Each sensor has different colored wires so I traced out the set to the sensor that kept showing as bad. They were all good so I put it up as a bad module and was right. Good luck.

Re: Back up sensors not working

If the light is staying on and it will not run diagnostics.....does that mean that the speaker is bad. I can't get it to beep or give me any codes, like the test says too.

The speaker is cheap enough (get one from Radio Shack) that you should try it first. Usually it is the speaker if light is on and no sound output.
