Watch out! Wrong door panel installed!
It's been a while since this happened, but I wanted to share this. When the Nissan service dept. calls me and says, "your parts X, Y, and Z came in." They often come in wrong. They discover during the installation that the parts are not the correct ones... Well, one time, they needed to replace the passenger interior door panel because they scratched it when they previously replaced the inner window scraper. After they replaced the door panel and completing other repairs, I drove off. A few minutes later while I was driving, I looked at the door panel that was just replaced. Something didn't look right... Hmmmm. My LE has leather trim on other door panels but this one has some kind of vinyl trim... Turned around and showed it to the service writer. They put an XE or SE door panel on my truck... Supposedly, they ordered with the correct part #, but Nissan sent them the wrong trim level. Examples of wrong parts delivered from Nissan to the dealership:
Replacement passenger door big tow mirror (Should have been factory installed kind instead of add-on. Wiring harness is different apparently).
* Overhead console - mine does not have DVD but the one for DVD came in or something like that... TWICE
* Console lid between the front seats - was told wrong kind came in...
At least Nissan is being consistent with their quality control including parts distribution... (Sorry, I couldn't help not to be sarcastic!)
