HELP!! Exceleration loss and slip light. SOLVED!!!
Hello all, Im posting for some serious help. To fill everyone in I have an 08 se king cab 4x4, just so everyone knows what im driving, mods are flowmaster muffler only (currently anyway). Now for the problem, around a week ago I got a pullydog power pup went thru all the install procedures and everything seemed great while installing, everything besides having to clear my ecu because of a SES light (purge valve which was replaced 4 days ago), I didnt realize the bullydog wouldnt work with a SES on. The only other issue I had was upon changing the timing advance it told me I was at optimal temp advance and to press yes, it wouldnt press yes so I wiggled the odb plug and it was fine after that (more then likely a loose connection in odb plug itself). Upon finishing the download I of course wanted to check everything out, I took it rite out but while entering the interstate I gave it gas to get upto speed but the vehical would not down shift it only crept upto speed like I was only slightly pushing the peddle. I immediately went home and checked everything on the bullydog, made sure I didnt have a weired setting (regular fuel, wot unrestricted speed limit increased slightly amd plus 1 advance) everything was good. I then decided to return truck to stock and hope to fix issue, after returning to stock the issue was still there, I then came here online and I read to disconnect the battery for over night and see if that helped anything, after doing that i regained all excelleration and everyrhing was good, it could have been just from resting for a while took care of the issue tho, who knows. A couple days went by with no problem then while driving I noticed the same thing was happening again but this time the slip light came on too, I tried the battery thing again but it was still doing it, I then tried to reset the ecu but it was still doing it, however upon doing these things the slip light goes out each time but the excelleration problem would stay, but normally the light would came back on at some point tho, (any time I turn truck off slip light goes out, eventually it will come back tho). The issue was here and there but now it seems more here and it driving me nuts, Ive check most everything I can think off, air filter / box, cats amd break peddle assembly (some tsb breaking safty that can malfunction) but im totally out of ideas. I dont remember this issue before the programmer install but it is possible, also there is no SES light currenly only slip light some times like I mentioned, im no tech but it seems like something is sticking ever seance I changed proformace from stock. Please point me in a direction for my dealer they can be clueless, Ive went in there a few time and told them what was wrong before they could figure it out and thats because of this site, please come thru for me again all you smart techy guys. Hope I get some good direction and I hope I explained everyrhing clearly, any questions are of course welcome. LONG LIVE THE TITEN!!!
easy, get rid of the pullydog, somewhere you screwed up the programming

There are several things man. Mine was kinda the same issues, limp mode kinda. I had the brake wire, along underneath passenger frame, and the headlight/parking wire melt together. took dealer 6 weeks to find. Truck ran perfect till I turned my head lights on, which activated braking wire making the truck think I'm pressed on brake while driving.
MAF sensor, clean it yourself. About 5 min deal. Unhook, spray crc contact cleaner, rehook.
Some say check brake fluid when slip light comes on.
Could start a bad fuel pump
I have no knowledge on the programmers yet. Others will chime in on that stuff.

Period (punctuation)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
This page is about the punctuation mark, for other uses, see Period.
A period or full stop.
A period, also known as a full stop, in punctuation is a dot (.) that is at the end of a sentence. It shows that an idea has finished.
When it is used in numbers, it is called a decimal point. It shows that the numbers to the right of it are less than one, as in 1.234. When it is used to write money in numbers, it shows that the numbers to the right of it are less than one pound/dollar/euro. For example:
"Elizabeth bought a soda for $1.25."
means that Elizabeth paid one dollar and twenty-five cents for her drink.
A period also means a word has been shortened when it is after the word, for example: Pty. Ltd. The words doctor, mister, and mistress are often made shorter when used with a name. "Dr. Smith" is the name of a doctor whose last name is Smith, and "Mr. Banerjee" and "Mrs. Yang" are common ways of writing "Mister Banerjee" and "Mistress Yang". It is also used for names when the first and middle name are shortened but the last name is not, for example "J. Citizen".
When three periods are used together (...), they are called an ellipsis.

Arachnid makes a good point. When I see someone who is so careless with punctuation and spelling in a request for help, I wonder how careless they were when working on their Titan. It makes me wonder if there is something else that the OP didn't notice that might be causing the problem.

True, but using these smart phones sometimes, its faster and easier to explain with letting the phone do its job. They are not that smart. Lol
The guys truck is messed up, he's prob frustrated and fumed, so the last thing he needs is sarcasm. Lol My punctuation isn't the best, but I treat my possessions and work very hard for perfection.

Thanks cmhynds, i appreciate someone serious. (Oh no I used a lower case I) Its always reassuring when someone can judge so easly, they know nothing about me but they sure act like they have it figured out. I guess I could hijack this topic too and analyze each persons grammer and punctuation. It actually says quite a bit about a person who quotes wikipedia, thats an easy way to descibe something he must be a real lazy guy the type that takes short cuts on everything they do.(stupid assumption huh?) Anyway Im going to take the helpful comments and solve this issue. Too all who have given topic realted comments thanks and keep them coming, Im really hoping to eventually get pointed to the rite solution to this issue. YES, LONG LIVE THE TITAN. If my original post was hard to read I do apologize, any clarification/details needed just ask
I had something similar to this happen on my old xterra. i would be around 60mph and the slip light would start flashing and would not accelerate. tried ecu resets and would still do this. i could get it to go away by putting it in N and turning it off and on while still driving. the last thing i did was checked all the sensors in the wheels and one was pretty full of dirt. cleaned it up and the problem didn't return. i remember someone else saying it could also be the ipdm but this worked for me. Good luck and let us know if you get it figured out

Update. After checking various items the issue Iam experiencing is related to a fault with my break/parking light system. IAM currently in the process of finding the exact location or causes of this fault, grounding or a shorted wire as wrote earlier by cmhynds. The issue is very similar to cmhynds as the truck only has this issue when parking lights are on, and vehical thinks break is being pressed putting it in limp mode. I will write when the exact location of this issue has been found in hopes to help someone else figure out this issue.
Re: HELP!! Exceleration loss and slip light . SOLVED!!!
Problem solved. Upon testing the entire tail light electrical system I found that the break light wire only had 8v, and one of the corresponding grounds used for the tail lights was also not present. I then worked down the vehical checking each wiring harness connectors for the appropriate voltage/ground (and for any cuts/shorts between), ending at the main wiring connector behind passengers tire underneath truck. When I finally got to the main connector to test the wires I noticed that the locking push tab wasn't seated all the way, I pushed the tab all the way forward and the connector went together an additional 1/4" at least. I knew immediately that this was the problem, I re-tested the lights and everything was great I sure am glad I didnt spend a lot of money at a dealership. I guess the connector was just far apart to fail only one ground and only 4 volts from one wire. The slip light was comming on because my rear right wheel sensor was wicked dirty, I cleaned them all and hopfilly it solved that problem. Well figured I would fill everyone in incase someone experiences weired issues with dim tail lights or whatever in the future. I guess over time it must have shaked loose or something, I hadn't really driven much at night for a week or so before this happened so who knows how long it was loose, im just glad it had nothing whatsoever to do with the programmer. To any who actually gave some good ideas and areas to look at I really appreciate all your help, thanks a bunch. LONG LIVE THE TITAN!! (Thats rite I said it)

I currently have the exact same issues you had. SLIP Light turned on, truck will not downshift when WOT is applied. Ironically....I actually took that harness apart yesterday and not today I am having those issues. I wonder if it is not seated correctly... Thanks!

The slip light issue was really weired. Mostly it was no wot when parking light were on, and no cruise when lights were on. I dont know if slip light was related or not, it came on as I mentioned but I dont remember it being everytime. Check and see if youe wot is there when parking lights are off. Either way I would double check that large multi pin connector, mine was only loose a hair from road vibrations and it caused all kinds of strange stuff. Good luck hope its an easy fix.
