Hmmm....Like future buyers on this forum have posted, I am a little
leary on getting a titan? I want peice of mind owning a $28k+
vehicle. Not wondering if my rotors, radio, window etc....are gonna
go out? Frustrating imo.
My present ride.........29,562 problem free miles!
F150's are having the same type rotor problems. The guy who started this thread got rid of his Titan due to buyers remorse although he will tell you he didn't. The problems that turn into huge problems down the road are transmission, engine, and other major issues. The problems that he had were minor and would have been fixed without long term effects down the road. Please let this thread die.

Don't tell others why I got rid of my truck. I'll tell you exactly why I got rid of my truck if you would like, but don't speculate b/c it makes you feel better about your little toy. I originally wanted the 150, but the price for the crew was outrageous, so I decided on the Titan as a compromise. I overlooked the looks for the engine (mistake). Well, after NUMEROUS problems which I have specifically outlined in many threads (not going to do it again here) I decided to look elsewhere. Timing would have it that Ford was giving huge end of year rebates and markdowns, so I figured I would just cut my losses and get what I originally wanted. I want to make this VERY clear...if the Titan had not had various squeaks/rattles/ticks/clunks/heat a/c problems (it didn't work!) then I would have kept it. I was not keen on losing a large amount of money, but driving that truck everyday listening to new rattles and clunks pissed me off so much that I jumped ship. Cars/trucks are like women...once they go bad they never get better.
For you who have bought a Titan that does none of the above, I congradulate you...I was not one of them for sure. You can call it whining, sniveling...whatever you want, I personally do not care as I have a wicked truck in the driveway that I am not spending absurd amounts of time with diagnosing the 'tick/clunk/rattle of the day'.

Read my threads before making another comment...you obviously are spouting out info. without spending time reading what I wrote. ONE of the problems I was having was with the rear end clunking on takeoff, which the helper spring fix did not cure. The SECOND problem I was having was with the engine ticking. Once again, the spark plug re-setting did not cure and the engine grounding did not cure. So basically your thread is completely useless.

Buyer's remorse. The End
PS. I have read all your posts on this subject.

I have one last question for admorris. If you had bought the F150 instead of the Titan and had the same exact issues crop up would you have been so quick to trade it in? No need to answer just think about it.

I'm very unimpressed with the qaulity of the vehical. The brakes are a joke at best and mine are still not right after having the abs controller replaced, mastercyclinder replaced and the service bulletin done 3 times.
lets talk dash rattles now....still have it.
Went to trade it on a f-150(i have x plan) and i was 10k upside down.So there goes the nissan having a good resale value compared to a domestic truck....
Should have gotten the f-150 me and the wife test drove first.Drove nicer, was more solid feeling and had plenty of power...we just liked the looks of the titan better.

How many people by a truck based on just looks? Just some food for thought...also on Nissan having a good resale value, you would have the same problem if you had bought the F150 & tried to trade out of it inside of 6 months. Not to mention the fact that you were trading an 'import' vehicle in to a domestic dealer. They are always going to rearend you on a trade. I went to trade in my 2000 Nissan Maxima potentially for a 2004 Silverado and was offered $8500 on trade in for a flawless car w/ only 62000 miles on it by the local yocal Chevy dealer. When I went to Nissan they offered me $11900 on trade. When I tried to get a competitive offer from the Chevy dealer they told me to go buy a Titan. Haha!! I called their bluff!! I know it is a first year model truck and expect it to have potentially a few more flaws than say the F150 or Silverado, but that's b/c it's in its infancy. I'm okay w/ that...it's about expectations, I guess...
FYI. The F150 has major flaws for the first year and the Titan has minor problems. Go get a F150, and get the vibration problems that no dealers can fix and Ford is saying its normal. All the trucks do it. Everyone I test drove did it. And personally the Titan drives tighter than the F150.
