I'm getting to the point where I don't know what to do. Every time I turn around my truck has something else wrong with it. Right now the front power windows don't work right, the brake pedal is low and goes to the floor at times, the gas gauge never reads full when its full, the engine sounds terrible......possible exhaust leak, the 4WD has a vibration/clunking when its in 4WD, and the list goes on. Its had the stereo replaced, the 4LO sensor, and a bunch of other things.
I had it at the dealer yesterday and they accomplished nothing with it. Called Nissan consumer affairs today and was told I haven't afforded Nissan the opportunity to fix the truck because it hasn't been left at the dealer for days/weeks. Right now Dodge is looking good. I love my Titan, but I don't have time to live at the dealer. I also can't afford to take the hit of trading this problem child in........so, right now its making a cute driveway ornament. Its driveable, but sounds like its on its last legs.
Don't get me wrong, I love my truck, its a blast to drive, but I no longer trust it with the latest engine and 4WD problems. Sad thing is my little Focus is a better vehicle for 1/3rd of the price.

Welcome to a growing club. My Titan is always at the damn dealer for something. It never seems to be the same thing twice, just always something new. Hell, I'm waiting for 3 different sets of parts to come in as we speak. What a pile.
Yes, I know that other makes are having probs, etc.,etc. I think I'll go back to Toyota. I had fewer problems with 3 Toyota trucks than I had with this one, and I logged 350,000 miles on those trucks in total.
Can you lemon law over LOTS of problems, or just if one keeps repeating itself?
"Engine sounds terrible, brake pedal goes to floor"
I wonder if there is a vacuum leak, or a problem with brake booster? The two could be related.
Sounds like the bigger problem you face with it is a relative dearth of Nissan dealers in Ak. If they're incompetent, you really can't own a Nissan there. Dealers are important. It's one reason I purchased so many Chevy's, even though they are just well...Chevy's, I could depend on Burt Chevrolet service department.
And if you haven't given the dealership enough time with it, do it and get a loaner from them.
I'm sort of underwhelmed with the Nissan Titan quality too, but you have to give them enough time to sort it out. And they probably need more time where you are, with fewer competent/certified mechanics in a rural setting.

And maybe this should go without saying, but to some people I've known, they put it in 4WD in the fall, and don't take out of 4WD until spring. It's a PART TIME system.
Clunking could be in the front diff, transfer case, driveshaft splines, u-joints. To the extent that you're able to crawl under it, you can grab hold onto parts like the driveshafts and turn them back and forth with your hands to check for freeplay, and locate clunks. You can also put the vehicle up of (4) jackstands, and run it in 4wd while someone listens for where the clunks/vibes are coming from. Could be as simple as low fluid in the transfer case or front differential, or a driveshaft u-joint.
As an Armada owner who's been there, I can completely sympathize with you. It's good to vent.
Fortunately I embraced patience and understanding in the fact that it's a 1st year vehicle. Will I ever buy another 1st annual edition vehicle? Hell no.
But fortunately, with my own effort 1/2 the time and the service department the other 1/2, things are finally working out.
Hang in there. I guess we all learn our lesson on 1st year models, and when compounded with the brand new factory and workers, it seemed Nissan couldn't quite pull it off. I still think they make a great product as evidenced by their other vehicles, and my dealer at least has been willing to address the issues.
If you're getting crappy service, that's a whole other matter.
The GM has a call in to Nissan and is waiting on a call back. I'm going to take the truck there tomorrow and drop it off. I was going to have my mom give me a ride home, but the more I think about it I think I will ask for a 4WD loaner, I HAVE to have 4WD. My little Focus does good, but when the driveway has a 2 foot drift I ain't gonna get the Focus out of there. I noticed the 04 Exploder I traded in is still there, so might ask for that as a loaner, its a pile, but not as bad as the Titan.
I'd rather just have them FIX this truck, especially since I CANNOT replace it with one like it. Its Sedona.......color isn't available in 05 and its an SE with VDC, can't get that anymore on the SE trim, only LE. Not to mention my daughter is TERRIBLY attached to this Titan.........she named it Mr Tidy, she says her and the truck have a lot in common, always at the doctor.
So, I'll give them a while to get it right and FIX the problems, then we'll see. I don't care if they keep it a month as long as I have a 4WD vehicle to drive. The GM is VERY willing to help, he wants Nissan to buy it back, but I'm not sure that's what *I* want.
Its sad, this is my 4th Nissan and probably my last, I bought Nissan because I thought it would be reliable.......guess that's what I get for thinking. Going back to Dodge or Ford after this. I was sure hoping Nissan would get it right the first time. Even with all the problems I still absolutely LOVE my Titan..........its a sickness me thinks.

Watch it or some on this board will say that you are a whiner and deserve these problems b/c you are not being patient with the dealer/Nissan.
I'm just messing with you, but what you have stated is basically what went on with me and my Titan. I ended up taking a nice little loss to get rid of it and get the FX4 150. I could not be happier with my choice.
good luck to you. I understand wanting to get it fixed vs. having to go through the crap of either getting a new one or getting rid of it all together. Mine was in the shop three different times for three of the 5 or 6 problems I had. A bunch of promises and "I'll get back to you later's"...and this is sitting in my yard

Man throw me some of your patience my way, cause I dont see
how you put up with it? How can you not regret buying a truck
thats constantly worrying you?

I can't say that I regret buying it, because I think I *knew* right from the start it was going to be a problem child. It broke 5 minutes after we bought it. However, its still one of the best trucks I've owned..........as far as the fun to drive factor and usefulness. As far as reliability its ranking about 6th on the horrible vehicles list for our family. So, we have had worse, but we've had a lot better too.
I'm heading to work here soon and will take the truck over to the dealer on my lunch hour, will go from there. Hopefully its fixed good enough for me to take it for a couple days late next week when we go to Anchorage. Roads are bad and the Titan is the best I've ever driven on bad roads.........especially with Bridgestone Winter Duelers.
Everybody always says if there's a lemon on the lot I'll find it and buy it. Its held true for almost every new vehicle I've owned with the exception of a few cars including my 2004 Focus ZX3.
Well, I'm another Armada owner who has had, and is still having, numerous problems and have run out of patience. I've had my Armada since mid February (only 9,500 miles) and have had my vehicle in the service bay 15 times for non-maintenance related repairs. I have always liked Nissan products and used to work for their financial division (NMAC) and it was the best company I have ever worked for, but after my experiences with this vehicle, I will never buy another Nissan product again. Prior to my Armada purchase, I was considering the new F150 crew cab and the Expedition, but figured the Nissan was a safer bet as far as reliability. Boy, did I guess wrong with my Armada! I could just have a lemon, but it seems like numerous others are having similar problems as well. When I bought a new vehicle, I wasn't planning on having to have my wife drive it while I was crawling around in the back of the vehicle trying to locate where all of these noises were coming from, but that's what I got. I have since driven the 2005 Toyota Sequioia and am really impressed with how well it drives and is put together. If my lemon law claim in Maryland is upheld and I receive a buyback from Nissan, I will be going straight to the Toyota dealer that same day. We'll see...

As you can see Admorris got banned due to the fact he has a attitude problem. I am personally sick of hearing about his F150. The F150 has problems as well, actually more than the Titan. I drove 4 F150s, and they all had vibrations. I was about to get one, but after I drove the Titan, it was a much better truck over all. So far mine hasn't given me one problem after 1200 miles. I thought I had a rattle, but it was my wheel lock in the glove box. haha. Oh well. Get your problems resolved, most you can do yourself. All cars have first year problems. Its not enough for me to get rid of one of the best trucks out today. Also Admorris only had his truck 2 weeks before he got rid of it. Thats hardly enough time to solve any problems.

What dealership did you buy from? I just bought my Titan from Len Stoler on Reisterstown Road. It hasn't needed servicing yet (I've only had it six days), so I don't know how responsive they are.
There's no reason any dealer wouldn't give a loaner while getting things fixed or worked on. Did you ask, or assume they wouldn't give it to you.
I'm lucky.. no problems with my titan (besides the ticking, which I fixed today!!) and the brake TSB should be done soon (just a little jitter, haven't had the fade people talk about).
So, take it in, get a loaner, call every day to find out what's up, and hopefully things will be resolved or you'll qualify for lemon law.
I was in looking at a new car for my wife and my saleslady said "take the new pathfinder for a drive" (I was actually looking at the Murano or Altima)..
I told her "I'll take one home when I bring my truck in for the recalls an TSBs to get fixed".. kinda jokingly..
