I recently had a flat on my front passenger side wheel. I replaced with the spare and have fully checked on all four wheel and keep it at 38 psi. however, the system low tire pressure lite is still on. I talk to the service dept and they told me to drive around without the flat tire on my truck (since the computer is still sensing the flat) and see if it will turn off. but it doesnt.
So i called another dealer, they told me that it cost $55 dollars to reset the system. they also told me that the computer needs to sense that all 4 tires are in the orignal position.
so i were to rotate the tires, or purchase a new set of tires, i will need to pay $55 for them to reset the system since the wheel are not in the orginal position. is this true?
Have any one of you rotated the tires and you have no problems with the stupid low pressure tire light? or can i just reset the system myself?

i had a flat on the right rear, put the spare on and it still said i had a flat. if you notice the spare doesnt have the metal valve stem that detects air pressure, i went and got my spare tire put back on the wheel that had the flat, then took the flat tire plugged the hole and put it on the spare wheel. it started working after that.

My low tire pressure warning light has come on the past two mornings in temps near freezing. After driving for a while the tires warm up and the warning disappears. The system does seem to track psi pretty well. I watched each tire pressure gradually increase. Keepin' my fingers crossed that the system keeps working like this.

Your tires don't have to be in the original position. I have have rotated my tires twice with no problems. I did have the low pressure light come on once. That was because I had low pressure in one of the tires. I put more air in and the light turned off within a mile or less.

Maybe just BS, what happened to me is the same that happened to you, as long as the tire with the air sensor is used as a spare tire (not on ground revolving like the other three) the light will stay on, when I put back the original tire and rim the light went off in about 20 miles or so. The tire tech said it works in conjunction with your radio????????????

According to the Service Manual, the sensors work above 20 mph, therefore, they have to be rotating to scan the sensor code into the receiver. So, if the sensor is on the spare, it won't work. I just rotated my tires, and I don't have any problems with the warning light. I don't have the nav system.

mine did that last week to me - was on for a day or two, and I monitored the psi - when I saw it on, it had gotten down to around 40 (yeah COLD for central texas LOL) and the psi on all 4 tires was around 25psi. Anyway, was on for 2 days and chimed only 2 seperate times (1st when it originally detected and 2nd two mornings later). It was going to go in for service the following monday so I left it alone for them to do, since it was a safe assumption they'd do a tire check. Well as luck had it, the sensor turned off on Saturday. Guess it was the temperature affecting it and driving around, cause psi was back up around normal a few days later.
