Help me with rattle

I did a search, but can't exactly find what I am looking for. When I drive over bumpy roads, it sounds like something is loose under the truck. Anyone else with this problem. My truck just turned the 3000 mile mark. I thought I saw something about the cab bolts being loose. Is this the problem. I have a CC LE 4X4 with big tow. Thanks for the help.

Do a search. Under the truck on each side are bolts which bolt the body to the frame. Some said they checked some of those and found some loose. After tightening , they said their rattle stopped. Others found their spare tire loose and rattling. One guy had his towing ball adapter installed in his hitch and it rattled without a trailer hooked. Just some I remember. Good luck!

Not to take away from your rattle being a problem, it's probably nothing. My Tundra used to do the same thing, and my Titan does to, just depends on how fast/hard you may go over a speed bump or pothole or anything else that isn't level with the actual road itself. I haven't put a hitch ball on my tow setup yet, but that was another thing that my Tundra made noise from....good luck finding it

Ooh spare tire, I forgot about that. Scarab did this help you out? I have the same thing and it is driving me crazy. It just sounds like a clunk after the normal sound of hitting a pothole.

Do you think it might be the rail cap protectors on the bottom of the box hitting the tailgate and or front of the box?
This can make a loud noise.

Not sure about the rail cap protectors. It sounds like it is in the front end.

I was about to post a similar question till I read this thread. I have a noise when I go over bumps but it only seems to happen when I am towing. I thought it was the receiver moving back and forth and resonating through the frame but that seems impossible. When I hear the noise it sounds as if it's coming directly under my foot on the drivers side. Anyone experience something similar? Any suggestions on what to check for besides the one's mentioned above? Thanks

riccog that is exactly what I have. Driver side in the front. I towed my enclosed trailer and sleds to a buddies house to get ready for winter, and I normally have it when I hit a bump the right way, when I was towing it was louder and more noticable. Hmm interesting...

Let me know if you find anything. I do not think I will have a chance to take a closer look at it anytime soon. If I do get time I'll post what I find.

I have a rattling noise in the rear also, after hitting even small road defects. Twice the dealer tightened exhaust system clamps with no sucess. I will have him check the spare tire and body bolts and keep you posted.

Something I just thought of to keep in mind - if you are storing anything in your fender storage, it'll rattle around after you go over a speed bump or pot hole. Since carry my bed cleats and tiedown straps there, it's gonna give off a rattle. Anyway just a thought...
