HELP!! What would you do????

Ok guys just got home from the Nissan dealer........they still have my truck. So far they have figured out most issues except the rough idle. While I was there the GSM told me to go look at the 04s they had on the lot.

They had 2 CCs, looked at the build date of both, one was 2/17/04 (has been there since I bought my truck) and the other was 8/24/04. I shied away from the february build date truck and looked at the August. Drove it, WOW, its a different truck, it doesn't feel like its coming apart, put 40 miles on it and didn't detect a squeak, rattle, or anything. They offered me a deal that ends up costing me a difference of $2500. The new one I looked at is an 04 CC LE 4x4, RF captains pkg, big tow w/VDC, and utility bed pkg, mine is a CC SE 4x4, popular captains pkg, offroad pkg, big tow, and utility bed pkg. Mine is Sedona and the LE is white.

I'm torn, I love my SE, but dang, I'm tired of the problems, mine has a build date of 1/6/04. Are the later build dates better? Its either swap out or just keep dealing with my truck the way it is. I'm not sure they will be so generous on an 05.

It's your $2500 and only you know if it's worth $2500 to be rid of your other truck?

I would try to work with the dealer and let them eat the $2500 if possible. If your truck has been in the shop for a long time or time after time for the same issue then I would first call Nissan Consumer Affairs then see where it goes.

For what you would be getting, it's worth the $2500 if you can afford it.

Have already called Consumer affairs, was told I haven't afforded Nissan the opportunity to fix my truck. Um, ok, so all those trips to the service dept were for what?? The $2500 difference is the difference in MSRP between my truck and the LE, so I'm not really complaining about that. They are being more than fair. I called the GSM and told him we would be in on Friday to get the white LE. That is unless something falls apart and the deal goes south. If that happens well, I guess Ed will have to go back to chasing gremlins with my truck........he found most of them today.

The difference in jumping up to the LE and having the late build date would make that worth it Ark. Take it from someone who just went through the same dilema.

Thanks guys for confirming my gut feeling. Now just have to hope something doesn't snafu this whole deal between now and Friday (earliest we can get in to sign and pick up the truck). If it does I won't be sad, I still have a Titan.........just a quirky one. Ed couldn't find the dash rattle until he wanted me to go with him and point out a few things, pulled the brat out of the service bay and wham, the dash started in. All I said was "see, he (my truck) just needed his mom." lol Silly truck.

My daughter is still heartbroken, she wants Mr. Tidy to come home. Hopefully she likes the new truck as much if we get it. Its all a go unless the bank says NO (which could happen I suppose).

We'll keep our fingers crossed for you!

Tell your daughter that you'll be bringing home Mr. Tidy's younger brother who needs a good home and a little girl to love him.

She sounds like a sweetheart.

LOL, good idea. My daughter is very attached to my Titan, she said her and Mr. Tidy have something in common..........they both spend a lot of time at the doctor. We bought the Titan for her, to tow her camper, so that when its smoky we can get away. My daughter has cystic fibrosis and is very special. That's why I call the Titan *her* truck.

Well, the truck's name is really Mr. Tittie, er, Tity, um, Titie, well, you see the problem with that. So I just spell it Mr. Tidy.

Look on the window sticker, down at the bottom there will be some numbers in the middle area. Mine looks like this 040106 I believe, that's 01-06-04 build date.

Damn... I never got the sticker. They took it off when they washed it and didn't put it back in the truck. I guess it really doesn't matter since I have no problems. Thanks for the answer.
