My braking is smooth as silk, I have never had the judder that others have. I currently have 5000 miles on her.
My wheels have brake dust build up BAD!!! and always have, front seems to be the worst.

I have read that the aftermarket ceramic pads have little to no build up

I originally thought this was excessive until I looked around the parking lot at work. Most wheels look like ours. Must be the type of pads their using at the factories.

TSB done at 5000 miles and at 7500 miles little or no brake dust. Check posts on ceramic pads. One guy tried it on his truck at had bad results. He was going back to orriginal.

That was me, I tried the akebono "ceramic" pro acts from tire rack. just as much dust as the originals. wrote to akebono about it, they replyed back saying because of the titan weight, they couldn't use the "traditional" ceramic material and had to go with a more abrasive coumpound. I felt ripped off because, they advertise the entire line of proacts 9everything from cavaliers to our titan's under the same claims, less dust blah) They never mentioned anything that larger vehicles are actually diffeant coumpounds)

anyway, tirerack was nice that they let me return 3 week old pads after i forwarded the akebono reply to me. the refunded me my purchase price back.

I might try some other brand ceramics "raybestos or bosch" if either of them make ones for the titan, but still am sceptical due to my experiance with the akebono's

though for samll cars and small SUV's the Akebono's are great, so go figure they make a good light vehicle pad but a crappy heavy vehicle pad.

That's B.S. from Akebono. My last two trucks have had oem ceramic factory pads, a '99 Silverado 1500, and a 2001 Silverado 2500HD Duramax diesel. I put 45,000 miles on each of them before trading, and would get less brake dust in a month than I get on my Titan in a day. Those were the best truck brakes ever, no warping, no judder and no maintenance.

I had my share of G.M. woes, but they put on the best brakes (or did) of any truck maker. I say "did," because in typical G.M. fashion, they've gone back to using drum rears the 2005 truck line. Pathetic...

COMPLETELY washed the wheels yesturday even the inside of the rim and the back to see if the dust was coming from there. Today I can wipe the brake dust of the wheels with my finger. I had an F150 supercrew and @ 47K miles didnt have as much dust as I get weekly with the Titan. Something aint right....

I have the judder again and it is going in this friday. First time was @ 11K and this time is 15K.

I hope Nissan does something about this brake dust problem cuz it DEFINATLEY aint right. PERIOD.

I absolutely love this truck, AND HATE THE BRAKE DUST! I just turned 5,000 miles and still no problems, so maybe I shouldn't complain but I have never had a vehicle that made this kind of a mess. Thank you, I feel better now.

Get use to it.I lived with it for 104,000 miles on my 02 Nissan Frontier.
Maybe some one should come up with a external brake fan for the Titan to get rid of the dust.
Or you could always go back to DRUM BRAKES.

This is the ONLY complaint that I have with this Truck!!! So,I guess I'm VERY LUCKY!!!!!!!! I was thinking of driving it for awhile and see what happens,If the rotors DONT warp, then I will put NAPA or some other aftermarket ceramic oads on it!!!! If the rotors DO warp then I will let Nissan put rotors on it, Then I will spring for the ceramic pads myself!!!!

Can anyone find drilled and slotted rotors for the Titan???? and are they worth it??? I heard they cannot be turned down if warped.....I also heard they dissipate mucho heat....operate cooler and the pad doesn't wear-away so much. I see many sports cars that come stock now with 4 wheel drilled and slotted rotors.......Nissan should give us the rotors, alumium finned differential cover and easy-tail-gate-assist hing-spring mount for going through all this stuff!!!!! and free gas too!!

If you jack up your front end and spin your tires, you should feel light resistance. If they are hard to turn, your overheating problem is probably due to your pads not releasing from the rotors and should go back to the dealer.

I have problems with dust too. When I wash the Titan, I get water in the rims (factory painted). As soon as I drive off, it slings all the dust onto the sides from the front fenders to the rear. Really PO'D! Any suggestions?
