I love this truck. I am just wondering NOT complaining. When I let off of the gas the truck almost feels as if it down shifts or something. I mean it starts slowing immediately. I don't think I've ever driven a vehicle that did this. Have any of you experienced this and is it normal??
My Excursion just coast pretty much. My work vehicles do the same and coast.
JUST WONDERING?? Maybe it is a built in function to save the rotors from warping Who knows?? Anyone else notice this??

Mine did this for a few days last week, then stopped. I was about to take it to the dealer with some digital video, but it stopped doing it. I have no idea why it was doing it. It also seemed to be sluggish on acceleration, but it seems ok now.

If you have a slight decline, downhill sorta, the tranny has a program that down-shifts to help slow the vehicle down. It is normal.

It would do this while driving on level ground. This weekend I drove about 140 miles and it drove perfect the whole time. The difference is clear when it seems to struggle to drive or when it will accel/decel/cost effortlessly.
Mine does this also, i have big tow, withthe taller gears, its a 5 speed automatic but when you figure out the gear ratio versus a 4 speed auto it comes out to be 4.10 gears on the titan, pretty neat, thats why we get the crappy gas mileage. Oh well.
I noticed that coming out of my 2000 Tahoe. It's normal- just the killer transmission doing it's thing. It took a little while to get used to how well this thing shifts compared to all of the domestics I have owned in the past.
Thanks guys, I was just wondering. It feels kind of wierd. I guess I am used to driving Fords (for work). I am just shy of 500 miles. Going to go get the Oil & rear diff done in the next couple of days. I am one of those "Synthetic" only people so you know what's going to be put in .
THANKS AGAIN, and I AM NORMAL Um, I mean my Titan is normal

Mine does this as well. Almost everytime I let off of the gas to coast, it seems to downshift immediately.
I've also noticed that the truck has a problem when slowing down (coasting or applying brakes), somewhere in the 35-40 mph range. When it decides to downshift, the rpm's will suddenly drop by about 2-300, then rise 3-400. The result is a forward surge, which is not desireable when I'm applying brakes. Annoying, to say the least...
