My problem is this. I just installed a set of ventvisior brand window vents. These are the in channel type. Very easy install and seem to fit nicely. But now since installing them 8 out of 10 times when I close my window the window reaches the top and immediately goes back open again. I know these windows have a auto reverse for safety reasons. I cannot see that it is hitting any part of the ventvisor. Anyone else have this problem after installing vent visiors? Any cure? Thanks in advance for your input
I think the window needs to be reseted, and that I don't know how... maybe unplug the battery... somebody had the same problem, maybe a search can help.... this cars are too smart sometimes...
Good luck
Mine did this after vent visor install. Leave the windows closed for a good day or so, the visors should seat and you wont have problem anymore. At least this worked for me.
MikeZ, That is what the install instructions said, and I followed them to a tee. Waited nearly 36hrs before lowering the window. I have made sure that it does not hit on the front or rear lips even went as far pulling them back by hand and rolling window up. Still bounces back open. Actually will go down about a 1/4 open and stop. Passanger side works perfectly only drivers side is having issues.
If after a couple days the problem persists can I remove the visor and try the window and then replace the 3m tape or will this be a big no no.
GHog . . . I have Weatherfloctors, but your brand is likely identical. I've had 'em for months. The drivers side will occasionally do what yours does.
My fix is spray silicone. I spray it in a soft cloth that's folded so it's about as thick as the window. First lower the window, then stuff the siliconed cloth up into the channel and run it along the vent visor area. I usually do the rest of the window channel, too. I find it's easiest to do this from the inside of the door. Don't attempt to spray the channel directly from the can or you'll have silicone everywhere.
This treatment always stops the reversal - usually for weeks.
I've gotten so I lube the front door channels about every other time I wash the truck.
I guess the sensivity of the reversing device varies somewhat. Probably the rubber window channel dimensions, too. Just manufacturing tolerances.
Weatherflectors don't use 3M tape (for the front) so I can't comment on your "replace the tape" question.
Give it a try.

I had the same problem with my WeatherFlectors. It probably is not seated right in the window channel, thus the safety feature of the window is kicking in, as it thinks there is something there that should be there (obviously). I would suggest attempting to pulling the vent visors out and reinstalling them to see if this helps. When it did it to me, a piece of plastic had broken off of the vent visor and got caught in the channel. They replaced the side that broke for me and when I reinstalled, I had no problems

I had the broken piece issue, like Keith describes. It happened during installation, and was apparent due to a loud "snap". This was on the passenger side front. The Weatherflector folks sent two replacements, but it always happened. Each time I had to fish the broken piece out of the channel. That includes the last time - got the small broken piece out and left the rest of the weatherflector there.
Sorry GHog, I forgot to say to check for this. Fortunately Keith thought of it.
Turns out my silicone fix on the drivers side involves an original, unbroken weatherflector. Go figure.

Thanks or the input I have some spray silicone so will give that a try!!! I don't think I broke anything when installing as I had read several posts about that happening to others, so I was very careful. I guess I will leave it seated for another day to see if seals any better then get out the old silicone. If that don't get it....off with the visor for a retry :-)
I have this same problem but I don't have vent shades. If I allow the window to go all the way down and then try to shut the window it will rise about 1/4" and go back down. It then will not go back up. Had it to the dealer 7 times and finally they believe me that it is a problem. I have been told that Nissan is aware of this type of problem and are trying to come up with a solution. Meantime when it is raining or, lately, snowing the window will not reverse unless I bang on the inside door handle. Even this doesn't always work. You may be having the same problem I am. I have had new switches put in and finally demanded a new motor because it wasn't going away. Nissan would not allow the dealer to put in the new motor because they are thrying to get a solution. Still no solution and it has been seven months. So my questions would be: 1) does it only happen when the vent shades are in? 2) have you had a dealer look at it? You may be experiencing the same thing I did in the beginning and it has only gotten worse.
My problem is when the window is raised not lowered and mine never quits working. In fact mine appears to be cured now. I let the window sit for a couple days before lowering and the past 5 or 6 times I have tried it, it has work perfect.
As for your problem I have seen others with this problem. Shouldn't have to look back to far to find a couple posts about. Seems last I read Nissan was going to issue a TSB some time soon. Good Luck
GHog
