Driver airbag light blinking?

I had my PIE AUX amplifier installed today at the stereo shop and when I went to take it home the driver airbag light was blinking. They checked all of the connections and said that everything is plugged in. Is this a simple reset at the dealership? What could have happened to cause this?

FIX it AT HOmE

If the front dash cover is off, and the engine is started the air bag sensor get screwed up and flashes on the dash, to reset it do the following

1)turn ignition switch from off to on
2)within 1 second after the aribag light starts to flash---immeditely turn the ignition off
3)after ignition is off, wait for more than 5 seconds
4)then repeat steps 1 through 3---do all steps 3 times
5)turn the ignition on, and the airbag sensor should go off and not flash anymore

where did you mount the amp.
i mounted mine under the pasenger seat and the dealer had told me that i accidentaly disconected the sensor under the seat. i dont think i did but they got rid of the flashing air bag light.

just something else to check.

It's an amplifier for the AUX input on the front of the stock radio. It's mounted under the radio. It's very small.

Had a sportster Sirius reciever installed today at Circuit City. 4 hours later and three trips back to the store it was finally finished and actually worked. Problem was the volume. Tell me Mr. Virus how much was the PIE inline amp and how much did they charge you to install. I am definatley not going back to Circuit City. But they did refund my installation fee.

They only charged me for a half hours labor or an hours labor. It was like $30. If I had the time I would have done it myself. It was so easy. I bought my stuff from discountcarstereo.com Although the PIE adapter was $3 cheaper, they rape you on the shipping. They charged me $7 for shipping and another $1.50 for handling fees. The thing only weighs next to nothing. I'm not sure what this place charges for shipping and handling, but it can't be any more.

The issue is the passenger airbag light in the center console. Even though it can be disconnected without impacting other SRS components, once the circuit breaks, an error code gets stored.

The "reset" process puts the SRS system into diagnosis mode, upon which if the light has been reconnected, no error code would trigger (no need for the warning light).

Hope this explains what happened. Helpful advice for those that are putting aftermarket equipment in the center console.

FWIW - isn't it a PITA to have to remove the entire bottom half of the dash just to get the center console portion with the vents off???

Thanks a bunch, mine was doing this also. You fixed it ! Thanks. I wonder why this happens? Did you find this out at the dealer how to fix it?

Man, that search button works wonders. I installed my PIE amp this weekend and had the same problem on the way to work this morning. Now I'll be able to fix it before I drive home tonight. Thanks guys!

I must say that the PIE is a great little device. Now my MP3 player is at the same volume as the CD player (or at least close enough that I don't notice a difference).

After the dealership installed my new radio today the airbag light was flashing on the way home. I tried the reset and it worked like a charm!!!
Thanks.
