Wet Floor causing headaches

Hey, I bought a Nissan Titan on November 20, but delivery papers are not signed yet cause we had to get some things done to the truck. When we got this truck it had a bad musty smell and found the source was wet on the floor in front of the front pax seat! Now on this site I see that it is actually a leak and people have had to get the carpet replaced. Well, this week I had to go in to the doctor for severe headaches and I'm thinking it's possibly cause of the wet floor in my truck growing mold and stuff. I think I will be contacting my doctor if this could be the source of these headaches, if so I will request a letter from the doc saying yes it could be and possiibly showing this to Nissan and asking for a new truck because the truck I have now has about 1200 miles on it, we got it with about 600 so who knows how long mold has been growing. (We have not signed for "delivery" of this truck with the wet floor, so what are the rules with refusing delivery and asking for a diff one?). I drove my toyota avalon yesterday and guess what, no headaches, now I drove the truck today and I can already feel a headache. What are yalls thoughts?

If you want to get technical you could buy a mold testing kit. IMHO...I dont think they will give you another truck for the same price...they will just find the molded parts, replace them, and fix whatever was causing the mold....if that doesnt work and the mold was causing your headaches....see what a lawyer has to say.

More imprtant. are they going to fix/repair the problem that is causing this? It sounds like the popular AC leak from the drain. If so Just make sure they extend the tube far enough. You want to be able to see water dripping onto the ground just ahead of the firewall before you leave the dealership. AS far as your claim, You will more than likely have to give the dealer a chance to make it right for you before any litigations will take place, but you have the option to use the threat to your advantage and maybe get some freebies will you are at it. Good luck
Pretty sure you can get a mold test kit at your local acme hardware, if not Wal-Mart. They can be found just about anywhere since the big "MOLD" scare.

I bought one at CVS pharmacy a month or so ago. Haven't used it yet so I can't say much about it's performance.

I bought a 4 foot piece of clear plastic 5/8 O.D. tubing at Home Depot. Then from under the hood I removed the grommet/conduit from the A/C drain hole in the firewall. Next, I heated the end of the 5/8 O.D. tube and slipped it over the pipe nipple for the A/C drain that sticks through the hole in the firewall. Then I greased the inside of the grommet/conduit with wire pulling lube and pulled the grommet/conduit down the 5/8 O.D. tube to the firewall and put it back on. Then I reached up from the wheel well and wacked the excess of the 5/8 O.D. tube off with some pruning shears. So I basically slip-lined the A/C drain grommet/conduit with 5/8 O.D. tubing so that the hole in the firewall remains sealed by the drain grommet/conduit and everythng looks like it did before.

Dealer ordered new carpet and firewall foam, they claimed to have fixed the problem and said it was with the A/C drain. They are installing new carpet and firewall foam on Thursday.
