I took my truck in a couple weeks ago for a couple minor issues, one of them being the windows sometimes being jumpy and/or not going up. They ordered a window switch and had to wait for the parts to come in. Dealer called last week and said parts were in, so I'm taking the truck back in tomorrow. Hopefully it's the same parts listed in this TSB, but I will verify with them. For me it was just a couple weeks wait for the part. I'll let you know how it goes.

Dealer had ordered the regulator instead of the switch. Since the TSB came out after my first visit, they now realize they ordered the wrong part. So now I'm in line for parts like everyone else.

This is still not pulling up when the dealer searches the VIN. I took mine in as soon as I saw this and they were ordering the motors. I read them the TSB and they asked me to bring it in so they can order the switches.

Is this available from an actual Nissan source?

Update.....(that was quick)

They went ahead and took my word for it and the tech already has the switch replaced in the drivers side. No waiting here....they had it in stock. I asked if it was the right switch and she said that Nissan replaced the regulator and switch a few months ago so they only have the new ones in. I asked if he checked the saftey stop which wasn't working before, assumably more of the same issue and he verified that it was working.

BTW: I might have missed this before but along with the window auto-up issue there is another problem where the saftey stop wasn't working either. Normally if you hit the auto up and then pop the window on the top before it gets up it will stop and go down a few inches. Hopefully this will resolve both issues.

they should have gotten it, because my dealer got it, and they called me knowing that i had been in already to have it looked at. your dealer is either late in checking on it, or got left off the group mailing list or something.

Well I took mine in today to be fixed (along with my spongy brake pedal, bad radio reception, knocking noise in the engine area, etc) and because they cannot duplicate the problem they will not fix it. Grrrrrrr. So I have to drive the rest of the winter (20* outside temp) and let the window get stuck down repeatedly. This is no small inconvenience.

They also won't adjust the brake pedal until they fix the brake shudder (which I have not even noticed). Lovely.

I dunno; I haven't even made my first payment on this truck, and I'm already regretting the purchase. I figured the features would outweigh the few potential problems I might have; now I'm thinking that Tundra would be mighty nice right now.

Angry

Here's my non-functioning auto window-up story....Last visit to the dealer for other issues I get about 2miles away from the shop...pull over to ask someone for directions to a business.....I put down the passenger window to ask for directions......go to auto up and guess what??? no move.....I freak-out and try my window on auto-up...no go......I look into my door seal at the edge of the window and the rubber is all twisted up???? And that is how it started......after leaving the dealer???? Whatcha think about that???? Had to drink more than my usual one Bass Ale that night.......and now too!!!
So the switches alone won't help me...WTF.......definately going for a 05 for a fresh-start with all this stuff happening.....tires, brakes and differentials, transmission.....fluids.......switches, radio, heater, engine ticks, ......if it all worked NORMAL...I'd be happy as a ......well TITAN.

kinkade, i'd raise some hell, because the tsb says that the problem can be intermittent. meaning, you might not be able to reproduce it on command. your tech sounds like a moron. when i had the brake judder, the guy drove it, felt it, and fixed it. didn't bother with specs before hand to see if it "qualified." the problem was there and it was fixed. that's the way it should be. good luck

Well, I sorta did; I told him that it is intermittent, and he said "the TSB specifies that we must be able to reproduce it." I then called 1-800-nissan1, and told them about it; they said to leave it w/ nissan for the night (which I am) and to see what happens. We'll see.

I mean, how ridiculous is this? It's a freaking window switch; like I have anything to gain by getting it replaced? Other than not freezing to death I mean. :-(
