Truck bogs in first gear.

Hello all,
This is my first post.
When I first nail the trottle it starts to spin the tire and just kind of loses power like a traction control system is coming on. Then I pulls ok then atabot 4500 rpm it comes on like a small shot of the funny gas. After it hits second gear its all go to the speed limiter.
Is this normal with these trucks?

My gas gage also stopped working the 2nd day I had the truck. The dealer says the parts on national back order.

Other than the bog and fuel gage I haven't had any other problems with the truck yet. I LOVE THIS TRUCK

My fuel mileage has also been pretty good, the first tank it averaged about 12 MPG. After the first tank its been good, I'm averaging 18 mpg on the highway and about 14-15 combination city and high way.

Thanks

Yep it's normal....

try 'rolling' the throttle instead of pounce and you won't bog.

you will find that you have to almost "learn" to drive this truck in order to get the most out of it. Once you figure it out, it is off to the races!!

Turn off the VDC, if you have it, roll on about 80% throttle for the first few seconds, then floor as needed.

If you punch it, it'll bog, vdc kicks in, applies brakes to spinning wheel, kills power to engine, etc.

Thanks for the info.
No VDC, its a XE KC: so no big tow or off road package.

I tried it today, spun all the way into second gear. Once second hits it hooks up pretty fast.
