Well, my '04 KC is currently at the dealer, since Monday, getting the new, as they call them, "countermeasure Brakes" installed. My service manager showed me an original rotor next to the new one and all I can say is "what a difference!" On the old rotor the outboard side is thicker than the inboard side. what a noticeable difference too! The service manager says that is not a normal situation for rotors, that they should be of equal thickness, both inboard and outboard sides. The new "countermeasure brake" rotors are of equal thickness on both sides but with a smaller cooling section in between. This leaves the overall thickness of the rotors the same as the original and, therefore; we can use the same calipers. They have also changed the pad material for this fix, although I didn't see the new pads. I will be picking my truck up today so I expect to have perfect brakes. For how long is the question? My thoughts are that this is still just Nissan fixing the symptoms and this will just keep the problem from happening so fast. I'm told that the brakes have been tested to 15,000 miles with no problems. I hope this is finally it! By the way this is my 4th brake fix and my service manager used every contact he could and actually got me these brakes before the Nissan North America Arbitration Specialist could. Outstanding service! I can't wait to make a nice smooth stop in my Titan for the first time in almost 2 months!

It's amazing how many different stories I have heard on this forum. It's not that I don't believe what your saying, but without something from Nissan in writing I don't know what to believe anymore. It will be interesting to see what Nissan finally puts on paper. I hope this corrects the problem. However, I'm still fortunate enough to not have had the brake issue yet.
Well at 4K miles my Titan got the "mushy" brakes.....the dealer put the new pad upgrade on and did not touch the rotors saying they looked new. Now at 7K miles the vibrations are appearing. My dealer said he will order the newest upgrade today. Being a little thicker and not drilled or slotted I would only expect a few more thousand miles at best out of the newest upgrade and no final or ever-lasting fix. The dealer makes $$$ on service and brake service is easy to do. For the longest lasting "fix" a high-end after market purchase by the owner will have to occur......same as all vehicles. Just my 3¢!

What Brianyzf says is correct. My dealer has already installed the new rotors and pads on one truck. It is not a fix that has been released yet by Nissan as a TSB, and is only being installed on trucks that have had at least three brake replacements and are ready for the fourth. They said they are not expecting this fix to be released as a TSB for at least several more months.
I just got my truck back after its 4th trip to the dealer (3 sets of rotors, the last being the "new and improved" set and a resurfacing of the "new and improved" set). I had the stock rotors replaced with the same stuff the truck came with after 5k and 10k miles. The second time (at 10k miles) they put on the "new" rotors. I got 7k miles on those before they warped. I pulled the wheels and they are hot-spotted like someone took a welding torch to them in several locations. So back to the dealer where they resurfaced them and told me Nissan is sending out "newer and more improved" rotors in a week or so (when people tell you "in week or so" that means they have no friggin' clue what they are talking about). So this time I called the Better Business Bureau, and at this time I'm in negotiations, trying to get this all worked out.

I would be expecting Nissan North America Arbitratrion Department to be contacting you soon and telling you about the new countermeasure brake fix and offering you some kind of compensation for you cooperation and ultimately your silence. It's basically just a bribe to get you to shut up and go away, provided the new fix actually works. They like to call it good faith compensation for your frustrations. But at least you will be put at the front of the list to get these new rotors. I just got them on my truck, which I should be picking up today. I'm sure they will last longer than the originals but only time will tell if they last long enough. They have guaranteed mine for 15,000 miles. If they fail after that then I am on my own. If you decide to negotiate with them ask for a Gold Preferred extended warranty along with the monthly payment reimbursements that they will surely offer. Don't be shy, it's a negotiation and they are not starting with their best offer. Make sure you get some satisfaction out of it all. PM me if you need anymore details of my deal. It's too long and complicated to list here.
I got another temporary fix (new old-style rotors) yesterday. The service rep told me they had not gotten the new parts sets yet, and have been instructed to keep replacing with old as needed, and pretty freely. He also confirmed that the rotors will not be any larger in diameter. Only much thicker.

you do realize drilled and slotted rotors have nothingto do with the warping of the brakes right the slots are to keep the pads from glazing in high heat situations and to clean them as you race on a track and the drilled parts are mainly to increase wet performance and unless the rotor is cast with the holes instead of drilled the drilling will compromise the strength of the rotor and make it more prone to cracking

While what you said is true, slotting/drilling the rotor also allows gas created at the point of pad contact to escape and increase efficiency. Also clean contact of the pad to the rotor is not just important in racing. Through-hole drilling of the rotor also allows cooling air to be pulled axially through the rotor face by the air currents created by the radial vanes cast into the vented rotor assembly. This can result in much cooler operating temperature for the brake assembly. The only issues I have seen as far as spider cracking from cross drilled rotors has been the result of a low quality casting being used.
i have had my 3rd set of brakes mess up. dear corrina at, 1800nissan1, has told me twice,that in 4-6 wks we will have all new brake parts. she says that the entire brake assembly is being replaced.
Anybody have pics of the new designed rotors side by side with the old ones? Just curious. Also, I wonder who makes them? Nissan themselves or aftermarket?

I wonder if you can get OEM brembo rotors for the titan and if they made the thickenss the same like the newly released units. they make very high quality OEM rotors, heat treated and work great.
