Front Differential *Update*

I had taken my truck in last Tuesday and they told me that the front differential had gone out and it would be 2-4 weeks before it would be completed. I just got off of the and they told me the Titan is ready for pick up and the TSB for the radio was complete and they are detailing the truck!!! Thanks to Falhaber Nissan (Cincinnati, OH)

AKANGL: Call your SM and see what is up and keep me updated with your truck. Good Luck

When I went up last week before I went out of town, they had the front differential sitting on the ground next to the truck. he had told me that something had broken internally. I will find out and post the results tomorrow.

Here's what the service ticket says:

I had asked the SM what was wrong and he had told me that something did break internally and that Nissan wanted it back right after they took it from the truck.

Service Ticket

1. Customer states to check for fluid leak by front right passenger wheel
CAUSE: DRIVEAXWL CAME OUT OF DIFF
LD01AA R&I FINAL DRIVE ***'Y
569 W
1 999MP-A7007P GASKET SIL
1 38500-8S102 FINAL DRIV
2 999MP-DF100P 75W-140

LD021A COMBINATION: RPL FINAL DRIVE ***'Y

13925 FOUND THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE SHAFT HAD CAME OUT OF HOUSING. CALLED TECH LINE. SAID TO REPLACE FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY.
REPLACED FRONT AXEL ASSEMBLY

While they were going over the truck they found the rear differential leaking and popped the cover off and resealed it.

The SM told me that he didn't know what had broken internally. He just said they wanted it back. No aluminum cover on the rear differential...now shows orange sealant around it though. The service ticket didn't say what they put in for the rear differential fluid.

I am just happy that I have my truck back and now...

Lucky!! I'm still waiting, the SM said another 2-4 weeks before I get my truck back. He said they won't give him an ETA on the parts, they are just shipping 1-2 diffs per week. I'm way down on the list since there was 10-12 Titans that were there before mine, I think they have fixed 4 so far.

The SM said that its a retainer clip that breaks inside and allows the driver's side front axle to move around and tear things up. Mine had almost worked its way out of the diff, thankfully we noticed the fluid all over before we took the 700 mile round trip towing our camper.........this happened less than 24 hours before we were to leave!

I've got to make a payment on mine this week, that's 2 months in a row I've made a payment on a truck I can't drive. Last month it was in for the engine knock, that still isn't fixed due to parts on backorder, this month its the front diff. Heck, I've only had the truck for 3 1/2 months and its spent over a month at the dealer so far.......dang thing even has its own parking spot.

That make absolutley no sense at all. Your truck was in before mine and mine is complete. I should still be waiting and you shouldn't.

I know it, I'm very frustrated, I'm paying for a truck I can't drive. Might be because we are in Alaska or something, I don't know. Of course according to Nissan there is no such problem, lol.
