Very Unskilled Service STAY AWAY!

Hey, guys. I am trying to save you guys from the problem I am having with the service I received at Suntrup Nissan/Volks in St. Louis MO. I had one major problem with my Titan a while back. My 04 LE did not come with the switches for the heated seats installed from the factory. Suntrup installed the switches and also repaired the window switch problem I was having in both front doors. When I first picked up my titan after the heated seat repair there was a problem right away. The piece of platic behind the passenger seat was loose. After wiggling it a little, it fall off onto the floor. After inspection, I realized that the mountings on the piece were broken. They had just put it back on gentally and hoped I wouldn't notice. I let Suntrup fix that, with a very unhappy discussion after that.

Lately, I noticed a rattle coming from the drvers door and from my floor shifter. I took it to a different dealer that is closer to work. When the went into my shifter they found that the mounting for the black plastic pieces that go over the opening in hte shifter was cracked and bent and the two pieces were not attached to anything which is why they were rattling. The rattle that was coming from the door speaker was because when Suntrup took it apart to fix my power window switches, they broke a piece that the speaker was supposed to mount on and it was so loose that you could push on it and it would hit the sheet metal in the door.

DO NOT GET YOUR CAR WORKED ON AT SUNTUP NISSAN! Factory trained my ***!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear all the problems you had with them. I hope for their sake they canned the tech that worked on your truck.
Some techs, regardless of where they work, just don't care.

I'll handle all the squeaks, rattles, upgrades and routine maintenance because nobody that works on it is going to care like I do. When I picked my truck up, the salesguy asked if I wanted to make my first service appointment. I told him that unless the truck completely self-destructs, they'll never see it again.

I know you shouldn't have to worry about apes at the dealership with a new truck, but your experience is exactly why I HATE to let anyone work on my stuff. At the time it was happening, I *hated* it, but driving junkers from my teens into my mid-20's taught me a lot.

If you don't mind telling, what dealer did you take it to. I have had work done by Moore Nissan and so far real happy. I bought from Suntrup, but have not taken to them for any service. They were on strike so that is why I started going to Moore Nissan (not on strike).

I bought it at Suntrup as well, but will have it serviced at Lou Fusz. I have heard good and bad stories about them, but they are literally a block away from where I work. They proved something to me when the accidentally broke a part in the door of my truck and said that they would take one from one of their trucks because the part is of course on back order. "We broke it we will wait for the new one." The service rep had a pretty hard sell with the new car manager over that one.

The funny part about Suntrup is they are supposed to be the dealer with the most "master" level nissan mechanics around. Could have fooled me!

I have to drive 50 miles to the nearest dealership for service, so I called to get my truck in for the shifter recall they sai8d come in on Friday morning, OK I said. So I get there and They run it in the shop and come back in about five minutes and said "Gee we need to order the parts for you" I said thanks a..hole for making me drive 100 miles for nothing. They called and they have the parts now but I think I will make them wait until it is convenient for me now. Best way to sum it up-BRAINDEAD.

I am updating you guys on what Nissan has done. It took two months worth of phone tag, but Nissan did try to make amends for this problem. I made the arguemnt that I could not trust any of the work Suntrup did on the truck and I should get some kind of compensation for that. They gave me a 72 month 75,000 mile Gold preferred warrenty with a $0 deductable. I am not happy with the dealer, but it looks as if Nissan did step up to the plate. I am pretty satisfied.

cool that is very good I think that is one of the better stories that I have heard about nissan on this webiste. Not to say that you gys all write bad stories about them jus that the most recent story I have read about nissan was that awful story about the dude with the mold in his truck. and aobut what nissan was doing about was terrible

Damn - that's awesome man. I think you get free rentals with this deal too -- so next time you have to drop it off.. tell em, "See ya! Call me when it's ready!" That's a hell of a good thing they did for you. Pays to ***** sometimes... literally.

Same Seat Issue

My '04 CC LE also was missing the switches for the heated seats. I met with owner of the dealership to discuss how to remedy the problem, and when I expressed my reservations of having the switches installed after the fact, he offered me a new truck. He said Nissan NA wouldn't compensate him for this, but he wanted to be sure I remained a customer for a long time. I had almost 4000 miles on the truck, so he had to resell it as used.

How's that for customer service?!
