I noticed your profile says you have the K&N air filter, this sounds a lot like the MAF issues people were having some time ago. You didn't recently oil the filter did you?

Check the air box, I didn't get mine back on right once, and it quite about a mile from the house. Had to leave the battery cable off overnight. Ran ok the next day

Hmmm...Ill have to check that out. I did fiddle with the MAF but didn't pay any attention to a ground wire. I got it towed to a Garage (family friend) so atleast I can get an honest opinion on their diagnostic.

IMO the best advice you've had in this thread is to take it to the dealer.

Good luck.

I would if I had one near me, but i might have to. I got to find a way to haul it all the way down there...and im guessing its going to cost me a fortune since roadside assistance only cover 100km/$100...im almost 500 km away. Then I have to stick around till they fix it, and maybe take some days off from work, stay at a hotel in the meantime....... It aint' going to be cheap.

Have your garage buddy check the fuel pressure and the fuel for WATER!!!! If you over oiled the K&N filter then you may have trashed the MAF sensor, NO warrantee on that!!!!! could cost you 500 bucks just for the part!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I haven't re-oiled my K&N yet, but once I find someone to give me a lift to my truck, ill double check it all (MAF and filter). Im also going try with my spare keys.

I also thought it might be water in the fuel...but for the short drive I made this morning, it wasn't hesitating at all (not till i had to stop at the intersection).

I wish I could hook a computer up to it to see what codes are coming up.

I just had a thought....Is there some sort of fuel cut off device on the truck as a part of its security set up?

Man, almost sounds like when one of my old Frontiers had a crimped AC condensation drain tube from the factory or from recent alarm install. It backed up water on part of the computer, and it acted just like you are talking about. Dealer fixed it, but it had to stay overnight. They had to get a new computer part/board/doo-hickey.
It freaked me out when it happened. The dealer tried to blame it on the alarm install, which had been 3 months earlier, and then backed down later and admitted it had happened with a brand new truck straight from the factory.

Good luck man, hope you get her fixed.

Remove your K&N, re-install factory air filter, get your sleeping bag out, and prepare to spend the day at the dealer. You can have someone local check it out but I think you're in for a warranty repair. I had this happen to me on a Honda Passport - the dash board lit up like a christmas tree as the truck rolled to a dead stop. This sounds like a little more than a puddle problem - I think the puddle is just a coindidence if it was only 2" deep and you didn't go blowing through it.

Just a thought...the dash will "light up like a Christmas tree" when the engine dies. Just a possible side effect of the engine dying due to whatever problem it is having. Did it light up before the truck died, or after . Did the lights "flicker" while the truck was sputtering?

No, there wasn't any warning before hand. No lights flickering or anything.

Does anyone know if im entitled to a rental car while my truck is having warranty work done on it. I forgot to read up on it before have the truck towed to the garage.
