Rear KC door latch sticks

OK for you King Cab owners, you know how the little latch that prevents the rear door from opening while the front door is closed, sticks? And you have to fiddle with the handle a couple of times to get it to open? Mine was doing that, here's what I found.

Inside the mechanism is a small spring that is supposed to flip that lever out when the front door is opened, allowing the rear door to then be opened. There was a light coat of rust on the spring on the drivers side of mine. A couple of drops of light oil got it working smoothly. I did the pass. side just to be thorough.

Just remove the two philips head screws and carefully pull that whole latch assembly out of the door. It has a soft, gummy rubber seal on the back of it that will make it seem like it's not coming off, some careful prying will get it started and it will come off without damaging anything.

Note that you should use some kind of oil (a drop of motor oil will work fine) that will not wash away easily with water, and not something like WD-40 that evaporates and really doesn't leave any lubricating qualities after it's dry.

Re: Solutions to Known Problems.

How about something on how to fix the rear axle seals? Mine is leaking and its out of warranty. I know that most of you have the luxury of getting free repairs at the dealership but I'll do most anything I can before I spend several hundred dollars to pay a dealer to fix a seal.

Re: Solutions to Known Problems.

Just got my truck a few weeks ago, 07 titan cc le. Everything's worked fine with it so far until I was walking out to my truck this evening and the keyless entry fob thing didn't work. I tried to manually reset it using that procedure on the front page, but I don't see the hazard thing flash at all to tell me it's in registration mode.

Anyone had this situation before?

Re: Solutions to Known Problems.

the rubber sills around my window seem to be a little bit off. so for one when i drive it sounds like my driver door is a little open and sometimes it might leak some water every now and then. The warranty should take care of that right?

Yes they will. I had that problem with mine the first week I owned it and took it back. They had to order a new seal and replaced with no further problems all under warranty.

Leprechaun,
I have an '07 cc xe 4x4 and since I bought it used, the key fobs have never worked. I've also tried the reprogramming trick with no luck. I took it to the Ford dealership where I bought the truck and they tried the trick as well to no avail. They told me to take it to their Nissan dealership, but they want to keep the truck overnight to look it over. Does anyone have a solution for this?
