Engine Control Harness replacement

well the fun just never ends.....

Not to long after i bought my truck the transmission went out. This was at about 3,000 miles and the entire transmission was replaced. About 1,000 or so miles later i try the manual shift deal on the colulmn shifter and to my surprise i click it and nothing. The truck still drove and shifted great but the maunal shift mode didnt work at all. I dont tow and really have no use for it, but it should still work. So i put off going to the dealer because of some unpleasentness with other problems and service and mostly because i thought it was no real big deal because everything else worked fine. So now my truck has just under 13,000 miles on it and i finally decided to have the dealer look into it when they were doing the brakes (AGAIN!!!, 3rd time, cant stand it). I figured this was going to be no big deal, maybe the dealer just forgot to plug something in. Well, they first told me they thought it was a valve body in the transmission (uh-o thats what they said the first time when i needed a new tranny). Oh great im thinking, another new tranny, but that cant be it drives and shifts fine. They call me back a little later and tell me that they took it for a drive with the scanner/computer thing plug into it and the truck kept throwing codes and clearing them. They now decide that it must be the engine harness and that the whole thing must be replaced. they told me there was a bulliten out for it. They said it would take two full days to install (i guess they already had the part, they didnt say they needed to order it).

I found the tsb http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../NTB04-131.htm

so i guess they are doing this right now, but man that looks very hard and im kinda worried that nothing will be the same after this.

I dropped the truck off friday at 8:00 am and its now 12:00 pm monday and no word yet.

Anybody else have this done?????

Harness

Not only... must the harness be replaced, but the bulletin says the transmission valve body has to be pulled to replace that connector.

Did you get a loaner?

ay, well today i find out that they determined that replacing the harness is way to involved for something that might not even fix it. So, they now say its back to the valve body in the tranny which should be in tomorrow and does not require the tranny to be removed but just to drop the pan to access it.

Ralph- yeah i didnt see that part about the connector on the valve body, hmmm, we'll see tomorrow. And yes today i finally got a loaner, 4cyl altima :/ , no fun. of course they dont give you something cool like a titan or a Z.
