Thanks for all the replies guys...

jhromy - amen, I feel the exact same way...

tweety - thanks for your comments. But to be quite honest with you, I disagree with you 100%. I bought a $30,000 truck for it to look/perform like a $30,000 truck, not some cheapo $10,000 truck with a liner sprayed on as an afterthought. Obviously Nissan feels the same way since they have not only repaired the liner, but they tinted my windows for free and gave me 2 months worth of truck payments to make up for all the crappy worksmanship and ****ty customer service.

Aries - man, I can honestly say that "I know how you feel!!!!!!!!" It truly is a crappy situation... I hope they are giving you a rental car at no cost atleast! Has the service at Mossy been any better than Baker Jackson???

Mossy has been 10 times better about everyhting than Baker Jackson. The only complaint I have about Mossy is that there is usually a wait to get something done
I've been having alignments and little stuff done by them on my 240sx forever, and they honestly seem to care about what the customer wants.

Also, they're pretty accepting of us bringing them the latest factory service bulletins before they get them in the mail. My truck is actually going back in to them with a new list of squeaks and rattles next wednesday.

Well to be honest I just bought my 05 CC SE TE from BJ North and I must say their service was excellent. I made the dealfor the truck through Kevin Allen (The GM at BJ North) and Jeff was my end salesperson. They even tinted my windows for free because I had to wait for them to pick the truck i wanted up from BJ South. I took it in on Thrusday at 7pm and had it back on friday at 6 with tinted windows and the passenger side headrest replaced. Only time will tell I guess. Good luck getting your issues resolved.

I was reminded by the wife that my attitude is like yours is now but applied to my other vehicle, 02 T/A. I have had 3 of them and have taken delivery of them from the dealer with the plastic still on it. Wouldn't let them prep the car through make ready at all. Real protective of it. Kind of like you are with the truck.
To me, the truck issues were all over this board and on another board before we bought this thing so I guess I already knew going in what the PITA stuff was all about.
I am all about the fit and finish but the bed is just not something that I think about. Looking at the scuff marks in our bed from use and the bubbled area near the floor track is hardly noticable.
BTW, anyone else use the Katy Nissan near the mall?

been to Champion (the one you're talking about near Katy Mills Mall) they're alright to deal with, but I always end up leaving the truck for the day even for a simple oil change. They're just really busy.

I have been going through the bubbles in the bed liner thing myself. I bought my Titan at the end of March, and the next week I noticed bubbles in the bed. I took it to the service manager and he of course told me that he had never heard of that happening and he had no idea what needed to be done. So he took my information and told me that he would call me once he figured something out. About three weeks later he calls to tell me that he needed to take pictures of the bubbles and sent them to Nissan for them to decide what would be done. So I take my truck in so they can take the pictures. Today...yes today he calls me and tells me that Nissan does not have anyone in the San Antonio area that can fix the bedliner. That seemed strange to me but whatever. The service manager told me that Nissan's nearest place to fix it would be Houston and that he and Nissan agreed that was too far. So the outcome is the Nissan is sending a new bed that is factory painted and has the sprayed in liner to the dealership. I hope that my situation is resolved with less of a hassle than yours. But when I go to drop off my truck for them to replace the bed, I am going to inspect the new bedliner before I leave. However I am having a situation now with my dealership because last week my stereo starting freezing up and I would say that it is because there is a power short or the stereo is defective. But my dealership told me that because I added a line out convertor onto the rear left and right speakers that my warranty for the whole stereo was voided. Now I will have to pay for a new stereo or have them diagnose the stereo at a $75 per hour rate and then pay for the replacement. My thought is that the stereo is having an input problem and the output is fine. Therefore the line out convertor that is connected to the rear speakers (outout) should have nothing to do with the stereo freezing up and loosing preset stations and the clock resetting. All with all the times that I have been to the service department they have not said anything about a brakes recall....where can I find out more information about that? I bought a brand new 04 Titan CC SE 4x2 on 31 March 05.

We have had our oil changes done on Saturday mornings. Call in a few days in advance to be sure they can do it. The wife stays there while it gets done. No big deal or she wouldn't do it.
In fact they did the brake exchange while she waited on a Saturday as well.

I'm a LINE-X dealer.

Sorry to hear about your bedliner problems. PPG does other work for Nissan and that's probably why Nissan contracted with PPG for their bedliners. But, PPG has NO experience with bedliners and I'm sure PPG's problems have cost Nissan a LOT of money.

Rhino is inexpensive because it's made of 100% polyurethane. LINE-X is made of polyurethane and polyurea which is more expensive. But, LINE-X has more than double the tear strength of Rhino, a 75 degree higher temperature tolerance, better chemical resistance, more dense, and comes with a written NATIONWIDE lifetime warranty. (What's better than that?). Rhino has more locations than LINE-X, but LINE-X sprays more bedliners than Rhino.

Here are the market share numbers as compiled by Frost & Sullivan for the 2004 fiscal year.

Line-X- 37% market share
Rhino- 26.5% market share
Ultimate Lining- 19.5% market share
Speed Liner- 4.2% market share
Everyone Else- 12.7% market share

Last Year's Market Share #s
Rhino- 31.5%
Line-X- 26%
Ultimate Lining- 12.3%
Speed Liner- 11.8%
Others- 17.8%

All brand new bedliners look pretty good no matter what the brand. But, then things change after 6 months, 12 months, etc.

The fact that the Rhino did not stick because of the paint is TOTAL, ABSOLUTE, BULL. The problem was the dealer prep, I promise you.

Now, your favorite, PICS!

A customer brought his truck to us to have Rhino taken out an LINE-X put in. We snapped a few pics first (the bedliner is wet in a few areas):

Pic of faded Nissan factory bedliner:

LINE-X just sprayed in a Titan:

It would be really neat if Nissan (PPG) would offer non-fading color matched bedliners instead of just black all the time. Here are some LINE-X color matches (NO FADING):

Gasm - thanks for the post. I tried and tried and tried to get a line-X bedliner, but at the end of the day, all they would offer is the PPG crap they use. I suppose i'll give this stuff some time and see what happens. I guess the good news is that they are paying me 2 months truck payment and tinted my windows for free. I suppose that's the LEAST they could do. I must say that Luis Castillo (the service mgr) has been MUCH better to deal with than initially. BUT, Kurt Hoffman, the customer care rep for my area has been a complete and total joke. I plan on writing his superior's about my experience with him.
Peter
p.s. where are you located?

So, can you do a colormatch for a paint that is not so basic as silver or red? I have Deepwater Blue, and am considering removing the big plastic cover (I have no idea why the didn't just spray the tailgate too) spraying my tailgate. If Line-x could match my Deepwater, I would consider it heavily.

Sorry for the delay, I've been out of town on vacation in Cancun. Man, I had an absolute BLAST!

I'm located in Fort Worth, Texas. As far as colors, we take the factory paint code to a professional paint store (we use Finishmaster) and they mix the paint according to the factory formula. So, we can match any color with a few exceptions. There was a Toyota color in which Toyota was not consistant with the paint color from the factory.

Now, the colors look really good. But, you should know that the bedliner is not going to look exactly like the truck's paint because the truck's paint is a basecoat/clearcoat or basecoat/topcoat/cleatcoat. Don't let that scare you, they look really good. We sprayed a blue bedliner and I have pics, I'll try to get the film developed tomorrow.
