Does bad rear window weatherstripping really need whole window replaced?
When I first bought the truck in the late fall/early winter, I noticed that the rear sliding window weatherstripping in the passenger side top corner, was distorted. Dealer had window guys come out and reseal the window since weatherstripping was not sold separately. Guys did a good job, even though it was never leaking previously, just distorted.
Well now that the weather is nice, I'm using the rear window. I've noticed that the weatherstripping in the top channel where the window slides toward the driver's side, tends to fall out of the channel. This has happened twice and I simply pushed it back up into the channel.
I thought that some type of adhesive could be used to keep it in the channel. My service guys said they thought of everything and nothing would correct the problem. They said a rear window replacment was necessary and was a very, very simple job.
Now this problem is very, VERY, VERY minor. It's hard to believe that a complete window replacement is needed for this.
What's your guys take on this?
Thanks and have a good one.
