Took the truck to the dealership last week to have the fuel gauge looked at because it was off by a 1/4 tank. The said they fixed it and replaced the fuel pump assembly.
Today on my way home from breakfast I started the truck and it didnt sound right, right away I smelt gas. I didn't think much of it at the time but when I started rollin down the street I still smelt GAS. I decided to pull of the road turn off my truck and got out.
What I saw PISSED ME OFF, must have been a couple gallons of gas shooting out by the gas tank. The puddle was HUGE and the gas smell was horrible. Some lady came out of a house and said she called 911, I could'nt belive how much gas had leaked. The FD showed up and dumped some sand on the area and told me to not start the truck. The FD captain that showed up said I was damn lucky it didnt catch fire because of how much gas had leaked. He said he noticed the trail coming down the street.
I had it towed to the dealer and I will be there tomorrow morning and I want a damn explanation. I have been there 3 times already and I was never upset because of how nice and professional they were. Not this time. The guy who sold me truck was there today and he said I will personally make sure they fix it right this time and find out WTF happend.
Or they could have switched the return and breather by mistake just some more info for you to fire off at em. Tell them you want them to fill er up and test drive it before you get back in it. Godd luck.

It wasn't the return line because there isn't one. The clamp on the fuel line at the pump was probably installed incorrectly. The sending unit for the gas gauge is part of the fuel pump assembly, so they had to replace the entire unit.
