Broken step bar stud

I was installing my OEM step Bars when the stud at the top of the mount snapped

as I was tightening the nut down. How do I replace this stud as it came from the inside of the lower rocker panel pointing out. I didn't really apply to much pressure anyone have any ideas how to fix this?? I don't want it to be jury rigged I'd like it to look like it should and hold the support to the body.

Yes, you need those studs to securely mount the step rail.

I used my step rails as rock sliders once (got high centered) and moved the passenger step rail back quite a bit. Snapped off all 3 locating studs. Ended up having the brackets tacked to the frame.

You could have a new stud welded on. Just take that one bracket off instead of removing the entire step rail, and it'll take about 5 seconds with a stud gun.

I wonder if it is just a bolt that I could unscrew as there is an access hole to left of the bracket and then just try and put a new bolt in through the hole? See pic.
