That's the first I've heard of that. Sounds like a bad install or something, mine are fine. Who is your dealer?

Geeze, I hate to say it but you must drive like a freakin mad man. Five rear ends and how many sets of brakes??
I don't know what your driving habits are but it just seems to me that you must be doing somthing wrong to be having so many problems.
Evidently the BBB dosen't believe your story either, and from what I hear they usually side with the consumer. Well, that is if the consumer has "really" purchased a bad product.
I've had my truck for over a year and a half and have close to 30K miles on it, so far I haven't had any rear end or brake problems. By the way I use my truck as a work truck. I also pull my travel trailer up some pretty steep mountains. In fact I probably put more wear on my truck in six months than the average driver does in a year.
I'm either an exceptional driver or I have an exceptional truck. Or am I just "lucky?"

Problems?

I have been on this forum since January 2004, and bought my SE in February 2004. The only problem I have had was replacement of an ATP sensor on the transfer case. I pull a 3,500 pound boat every other weekend all summer, 140 miles each way, and have had no rear end problems. I did put on the PML aluminum diff. cover in June just as a pre-caution. We have two 2004 XE Titans used for construction, and neither of them have had any problems with over 40,000 miles on each. These two are used to haul, pull, and move a lot of heavy equipment and supplies for construction. The paint is soft, and the metal is thin in places, but mechanically those two trucks are abused all of the time with no problems. I seriously doubt one truck has had to have five rear diff's with one owner, without the owner is abusing them somehow. embellsihment on the owners part about their problems? There are some brake problems, but this is likely the result of some poor rotors from the tier two supplier of the parts, possibly due to the crappy metal being brought into the US to make the rotors. Even at that, I would venture a guess that a lot of the brake problems are due to hot-rodders, brake riders in city traffic, and things of this nature. There are also a lot of people who convince themselves of a problem due to their OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) tendencies, and have convinced themselves they have the problem, then get pi$%ed when the dealer tells them they don't have a problem.
There are problems with all vehicles, it is just a matter of the percentages that do have problems. How many Titans has Nissan sold? And how many diff. and brake issues have been brought up, legitimately, as a percentage of total sales? I really wonder how this percentage would compare to other manufacturers, models, etc. as a whole.

MIKEY:

I suggest that you get rid of your TITAN.

Buy another brand and deal with it that way.

You probably don't have much of a chance for a class action suit and you've gotten nothing but unhappy with what you've tried so far.

I have no idea why you've blown so many rear diff's or why you have had so many problems with your brakes, including the new "permanent" fix. But apparently you are "unique" when it comes to so many issues at so many levels and so often. If it were as epidemic as you feel, there would be a lot more people howling about these issues on this and other TITAN sites.

I don't recall seeing many posts complaining about Nissan's new brakes but to give you the benefit of the doubt, it is still early yet.

Good luck to you.

I've got the new brake fix as well and mine have the same pulsing, warped feeling as before....dealer tried to tell me they were installed wrong....good thing Nissan exted the warranty on the brakes for something like 2 years and another 30K....something to that, but I wasn't listening, I hardly listen when my service guy speaks.

I'm on my 2nd set of brakes with only 13kmi.
We have only put maybe 200mi on the 2nd set, so I really can't give a honest answer about the "permanent fix"
If I remeber correctly the first set went on with abour 4kmi and the second 13kmi, does that mean the 3rd will be 22kmi??
