Do your TITAN doors do this....

When I'm cruising down the Interstate, in gusty winds...

Crosswinds that hit the vehicle from the drivers side cause the front door gasket (above window) on the passenger side of the vehicle to let air by/make noise.

This happens only during the quick gusts of wind, but it's always windy here...and when that wind will be -40 degrees soon....it matters. None of my previous vehicles have done this.

Do any of your door gaskets let air by during winds? Is this an isolated problem, or what?

Thanks!

Re: Do your TITAN doors do this....

Just got back from traveling for the holidays and my Titan did exactly the same thing. Driving down the intestate every time there was a big gust of wind in sounded like the door was going to blow off, drove me f***ing crazy for 4+ hours. It seems to me that the damn doors are not strong/ridged enough and when you hit a big gust of wind the door flexes and causes the door to separate from the door jam at the top. Anyone have a fix??

I have something similair but at all speeds. I have the KC and my drivers side door does no close tightly ? You can see by looking at it that it doesn't close like the passenger side does. Dealer says nothing they can do ? I think it's bullsh!t if you ask me.

See if your door closes flushly.

Re: Do your TITAN doors do this....

this happened to me also, but i think it is caused by negative pressure pulling out on the window at the upper corner when a gust of wind rolls around the truck.....i dont think that it is the door pulling away....

My 04 LE CC was just like yours! The dealer tried to replace the seals on the two front doors but could not fix this. The problem with my old 04 was that the two front doors do not shut tight to the cab and there is no hinge adjustment they can make for this. When it was very windy you could feel the doors shake in and out with air comming in from outside.
The easy way to check this is by looking at the top of the doors where they meet the top of the cab.
THE UPPER CORNERS ON THE DOORS will be sticking out further then the back doors and cab, you can push them in they are not a tight fit! This was one of the big reasons for me to dump that old 04 along with a long list of other things !
I was told that there is no fix for this , it is a door fit problem from the factory that the dealer can not fix at this time.
On my 05 LE CC this was the first thing I checked when my new truck came in. The two front doors are very tight fitting, the top corners are pushed in tight and making a good seal with the cab. There is no noise or doors shake with this truck at all. The corners are inside of the back doors and tight against the cab seals.

I hope all you guys can get this fixed, I fought Nissan on this the whole summer and fall of 04. The doors do feel like there going to come off the truck when your on the freeway and it's very windy, It's like the doors feel like there going to be suck right off the truck, scary feeling !

Deep.

go to your dealer and look at alot of the trucks on there lot, look at the top corners where the top of the doors meet the top of the cab.
You will see some are very tight fitting and are sealed tight inside of the back doors making a tight seal with the cab. Other's will be loose and when looking at the top of the doors they will stick out from the cab and back doors. I was told that there is no hinge adjustment for this, on my f150 you can adjust the door hinges. Maybe it's time to call a bodyshop and see if they can be adjusted?
If you push on the top corners of the door you will see that it moves in real easy and is not tight when fully shut.
If you look at my pic of my old 04 that is in this post you will see at the top of the doors they are sticking outside of the back doors and they are fully shut in this pic. hope this info helps and hope you can get this fixed!
Deep.

Ya I have alot of them, I just have to figure out how to enlarge them and post them so you can see.
When looking from behide the truck by the tailgate at the front doors you could see the front door sticking out from the cab at the top by about a 1/8 to a 1/4 of an inch. about the thickness of a paint stick.
On my 05 the top of the doors are pushed in when shut and are inside of the back doors not outside of them like my 04 was.

I will see if I can upload some clear pics of my old 04 for ya.

Deep.
