You mean that it wasn't like that from the dealer? WOW, that almost looks like it came that way from the factory.

Uh dude all Nissans have that on the lower portions of the paint. It's to protect against scrapes, chips, etc. It's rubberized if you poke it with your fingernail.

Yeah, I never noticed until I washed the truck. It also appears that the Nissan paint shop didn't do a uniform job. It is more noticeable on some trucks and colors than others.

Well most new cars come with a warranty on the paint and anit-rust. You should be able to get something done.

It's called Chip Guard and is applied by the factory. Most new vehicles come with it now. Good stuff!

Well it's not even a defect! It's there for a purpose! Don't count on getting anything but weird looks from your service department if you ask them to warranty your "defective" paint.

And it's nothing new. My friend's 1993 300zx had it...

I have heard it called stone guard as well. Suppose to protect the lower part from rocks and such hitting the lower part of your vehicle. Now you need to take it back into Nissan "Danny7499" and have them do the otherside if it doesn't have it.
