Exclamation Re: Survey-REAR END FAILURES ONLY

My Titan's differential failed way too early........the spider gears that is.
Thanks for the Survey and please "keep" up the good work.

1)Year- 2005
2)4X4 or 4x2 4x4
3)BT or OFFROAD PK-just yes,or no,or both. Both
4)The Locker?-Just yes or no Yes
5)Miles at 1st failure 69,960
6)number of failures 1
7)Have you ever towed?Yes or no Yes
8)Max tow weight-best guess? 4,000 lb.
9)Do you live in hilly area?Yes or no Yes
10)Ever have the brake problem-just yes or no. Yes
11)Do you have VDC-yes,or no No

Comment on Rear-End Failure:
Rear differential failed leaving a gas station at 10 MPH with no trailer disabling driver from having proper control of vehicle with intermittent drive/power-train capabilities and distracting popping/grinding sounds of failed components in rear differential.
Upon removing rear differential internal gears found both spider gears had numerous teeth broken off while all other internal gears looked "NORMAL".
Nissan1 (Case/File#6346683) and my local Dealer/Service Manager offered no warranty replacement help after it was requested.
Repair from Nissan was quoted at $3,604.67 for complete axle assembly replacement and only offers a 12,000 mile x 12 month warranty!
Vehicle had 69,960 miles at time of defect/malfunction.
Rear differential upgraded to a Detroit TrueTrac (Limited Slip Differential) at owners expense dut to lack of confidence in the NISSAN rear axle assembly/components and reported failure cases with minimum NISSAN cooperation!
This is a known defect that NISSAN should be responsible for on all Titans. Please help!

Re: Survey-REAR END FAILURES ONLY

Here is another for the 2006 list.
I purchased the truck new and have been anal in tacking care of it. oil changed once a month all services done. basically very well taken care of, babied even.
Anyway, was taking a trip this weekend, left friday, got about 50 miles out of town and suddenly.... lots of noise. rear pinion seal failed, diff locked up, and driveshaft is dragging on the ground. truck has 56k and some change, only other problem I've had was the rack and pinion steering assembly was replaced at 1200 miles (bad bushing install at factory or something) and thats it. its stock other than the nismo intake, unichip ecu mod, and flow master.

1)Year-2006
2)4X2
3)BT or OFFROAD PK- tow pkg
4)The Locker?-dont think so
5)Miles at 1st failure- 56451

8)Max tow weight-best guess? 2500
9)Do you live in hilly area? no
10)Ever have the brake problem-no
11)Do you have VDC- not sure what that is
