2)4X4 or 4x2
3)BT or OFFROAD PK-just yes,or no,or both.
4)The Locker?-Just yes or no
5)Miles at 1st failure
6)number of failures
7)Have you ever towed?Yes or no
8)Max tow weight-best guess?
9)Do you live in hilly area?Yes or no
10)Ever have the brake problem-just yes or no.

If you can use this format, great,if not, just write it out on one line-I'll put it together.
Sorry we can't do a pre failure study, but it would be too much info for me-not that computer adept.I will post updates of the numbers,on this and other posts.I'll also bump this up occasionally.Thanks.Charlie-Mikey,Philly,basshead-give us some help.I am sure I have seen at least 10 rear end failures (not counting multiples)posted over the year.

Thanks guys.Hey,where are the rest of you-Mikey,basshead?I counted about 6 failures on one thread.
I remember the 1 st failure reported here(at least a year ago).It was someone named something like "Surveyor"???He was towing-a toyhauler-in the SW(CA,AZ,NM??-on the way to-or from his father's funeral??),and the rear end failed at very low miles. He was kind of attacked here-a bit-because his mileage indicated that he was towing very close to the 500 mile limit.Thanks.Charlie
Is this a problem? I have about 19,000 miles on mine (no towing yet), and have not experienced this in my truck. I there talk of a recall for this???
Just check your fluid and make sure its full. Seems that some people have reported low fluids from the factory causing the rear diff to overheat. Unfortunately, I changed my fluid immediately after purchasing it, and still have had 2 rear diffs replaced. Some people have had some problems with this and some havent. Nissan put a different rear diff cover to add additional fluid, but for me, it hasnt helped. If you havent had any problems yet, you may be ok. Just check the fluid constantly!
)Year- 2004
2)4X4
3) OFFROAD
4)The Locker? yes
5)Miles at 1st failure - around 6,000
6)2 (replacement was the 05 version)
7)Have you ever towed? No
8)Max tow weight-best guess? N/A
9)Do you live in hilly area? No
10)Ever have the brake problem- Yes 3 Times

Anyone who want more privacy can PM or email me.
I will abstain from this poll due to fear of being bashed for saying anything bad about a Titan or its imperfections that it may or may not have.
Dont worry, I think everyone took their frustrations out on me yesterday and today per my thread about rear diffs. So, hopefully you will be alright. Good luck

1.2004
2.4X4
3.BT nly
4.NO locker
5.11,200 but no failure, just howling noise, was replaced with 2006 style
6.1
7.YES
8.6000 lbs.
9.NO
10.YES
i'm noticing all the rear end failures all have the locker. zachopp didn't hvae the locker, nor was it a failure just a howl. i'm guessing, it's not the rear end itself, rear locker has something to do with it.

We need more numbers-5(6 sorta) so far.All replaced post.
Thanks for the postings-keep them coming. We have 5(6 sorta) postings so far,we should be able to collect 10-15 pretty quickly.zachopp, thanks for that posting.I will count it.It certainly is a replacement of a rear end,so it should be counted.Anyone with a replaced rear end, just post it and note that it hadn't actually failed yet.I don't want to cook the numbers in favor of a pet theory by disqualifying certain postings..Just write the details-briefly-just like zachopp.
There aren't going to be hundreds of results here,so it won't be a problem to add some detail like ZACHOPP..
This isn't going to tell us why-it is just going to show what is associated with failures.
Keep them coming.Thanks.Charlie PS Nissan already has the numbers. It took them maybe one nanosecond to get the "associations"after the warranty numbers came in,and they probably had a working idea of the problem about 2 seconds later(they have been building rear drive vehicles a long time).
