tick behind front left dash
hey guys,
there is a slight tick somewhere behind the front left part of my dash, almost behind the speedometer. its driving me nuts because I can not figure out exactly where it is coming from. I notice it at around 60mph. It ticks a little more frequently at 70mph, and just a bit more around 80. Its not terribly loud, I'm just wondering if anyone has had anything related? Thanks for any suggestions.

I had something similar but I thought mine was coming from the fender, it only showed up at 82 plus mph

honestly, it could be from somehwere on the outside, i cannot pinpoint it.

His tick is coming from the left side (or so he believes) so the link you provided may just send him on a wild goosechase. Good link though. |

I took the column off and put some duct tape between it and the dash then put it back on. and the prob. was solved. Dont worry you cant see the tape either. It just needed some cushen between there to dampen the rattle.

mine has a loose vin plate due to a loose rivet. the vin plate taps against the windshield occasionally, primarily when the weather is warm. that might be something you want to check.

If you have a bug shield, try removing it. Worked for me.
