Question dash rattle

Hey fellow Titans! I know there is a post on here somewhere but here is my question. I have a rattle that comes and goes (mostly stays) and it seems to be coming from the center area over towards the pass. side. Sounds like loose screws or a washer that was never tighten down. I pulled the cover on the stereo and saw nothing in there to tighten. I also removed the vent cover at the windshield and tightened all the bolts that were there. No fix!! I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I know these trucks have rattles due to all the plastic, but this is loud even over the sorry excuse of the R>F> radio. Thanks for your help!!

Re: dash rattle

Check your glovebox.
I insullated mine near the top inside the glovebox to make it more snug when closed and the rattle went away. If that does not work maybe someone else will be able to help.

Cool Re: dash rattle

I noticed today has it has some play in it. I was thinking back to a post where someone put some foam where the existing foam is at the windshield. I checked it again tonight once it got colder and found that if you move it (with the defrost vent off ) you can hear it pop when you move it. It will be seeing some more foam tomorrow in order to make it a more snug fit. You guys keep me posted and if I found something that works, I'll do the same. Thanks!

you must have an 04 titan. mine did the same thing with the glove box.
Nissan is using bigger rubber stops now on the 05's so there is not so much play in the glove box door anymore. just thought that I would let you know.
The glove box on my 05 is sung and alot tighter fitting.
You can just pull the old one's off, and push in the new one's.

Deep.

Re: dash rattle

The interior was assembled using paperclips, Nissan thought they would hold the dash area together better. I'm investing in foam padding.

Re: dash rattle

Yea my truck has added a little weight due to all the foam/weather stripping that I'm trying to add in order to stop the rattles. I did find some. Its crazy but the bracket that holds the OBD test port was vibrating and sounded like it was coming from the top of the dash. Funny how sound travels ??? Just something for you guys here to check if you are having the same problems. Happy rattle hunting!!!!
