Just Got Permanent Brake Fix/What A Difference!

Yesterday I had new front rotors & pads installed, rears turned and new pads there. All I can say is what a difference. I have a 2005 LE Crew Off Road with 9500 miles (built 12/04). No hassels at all from the service department and they had everything in stock. They even had the new bolts. I don't see why anyone should have to wait for this fix now. I asked the service manager and he said all parts are available and they keep several sets in stock at all times. Did I say what a difference!

I got the full recall... Guess what, 10,000 miles later, they are warped. Going through consumer affairs now to get resolution. I'll keep everyone posted.

Re: Just Got Permanent Brake Fix/What A Difference!

Did you guys have a problem with the brakes before you took the truck in to the shop? I don't have any problems with mine but, I would still like to get the new ones on there.

Re: Just Got Permanent Brake Fix/What A Difference!

I had problems before even knowing a problem existed (pre june 2004)

I had mine changed like 4 times but I still love the Titan.

1st Visit: Resurfaced
2nd Visit: Resurfaced + front replaced calipers
3rd Visit: Discs replacement
4th: Recall, and no problems since

Re: Just Got Permanent Brake Fix/What A Difference!

What a difference? I experienced NO difference after recieving the "full fix"...

After reading 1bad's post thought I will be one pissed off Titan owner if they warp again...

1st - re-surfaced
2nd - re-surfaced and I almost rear-ended someone because they were not done correctly
3rd - direct extension of 2nd
4th - "final fix" completed

Only 4,000 miles ago, so help me if these things warp I'll never buy another nissan again...

Re: Just Got Permanent Brake Fix/What A Difference!

This is gonna be the sixth time I'm goin back for this. Consumer affairs said that all they can do is keep trying. They said I'm the first one to have this kind of brake trouble. That the Brake fix was only there because the engineers saw it MAY become a problem. And they wanted to catch them early. I was so pizzed. She acted like she never heard of any titan brake problems.

Re: Just Got Permanent Brake Fix/What A Difference!

Good experience here as well with the brake fix. It hasn't been long though and the true test will be how long it lasts. I had the original brakes go bad at about 3K. The perm fix was put on at about 5K. If I can get to 25-30K without problems I'll be happy.

I have a buddy in the market for a new truck, I think he's set on a loaded Frontier...

We started out test driving an almost $50,000 Armada (loaded to the roof) the salesman acted like he'd never heard of the brake issues either. We went looking in my Titan since his Land Rover was stolen and stripped...

Idiots, he also told us the X-Terra has a 5.0V6 :rolleyes
