Question broken seat belt

I took my Titan in to have the brakes done 4,500 miles and already shaking the steering wheel hard. Also had a broken seat belt that they could not fix because they didn't have one to put in the truck, my problem is they refused to give me a rental car the dealership sent me on my way with a non working seat belt. should't nissan or the dealer have taken responsibility for a rental car what if there should be an accident or something and some one got hurt. besides the fact that cali has a seat belt law will nissan pay my ticket.

Re: broken seat belt

At this point in time I would not worry about a ticket no seat belt mean you could end up DEAD. You should have not taken possesion of your truck if they refused to fix the seat belt. I would call the BBB or even a news station.

Sounds to me like your dealer sucks. However just because they suck doesnt mean they have to take responsibility for you not using your seatbelt. So if your drunk and have an accedent is Nissan responsible because they built the truck? Dont drive your truck. That is the only answer. Or do it at your own risk. But I dont think the dealer should be responsible. I think there are to many people in this litigious society not wanting to take responsibility for their own actions and always trying to find a way for someone else to be responsible. If I were you I would call Nissan directly and complain and tell them that your dealer didnt care that you drove with a malfunctioning seat belt. Were you nice to them when you went there? Or were you very demanding? Alot of times service depends on attitude! (Not saying you were mean) I hope everything works out for the best for you. But you are driving at your own risk.

Re: broken seat belt

but dosnt he at least have to drive the truck home? Not arguing just thinking that sending a customer home with non functioning seatbelt could leave Nissan in a bad position. The service writer should of at least asked Nissan corporate if they'd cover the rental car fee.
