Tire pressure sensor..???

My sensor is lit and I check the tire pressure. They are all at 35psi and the light is still lit. What do I need to do to make the light shut off? Do I need to take it to the dealer for faulty sensor?

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

You could try two things. Just run it a little longer at 35psi, mine took about 20-25 miles before it went off or air all tires up to 40psi and run that pressure until light goes out then air back down to 35, light should stay off. If this doesn't work, dealer would be next stop.

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

I have the same issue right now. The first day that we had a good chill, 27 degrees, and it came on and has not cleared. I checked the pressure and all tires are at 33psi. I'll try your suggestions above and see if it clears.

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

mines different. I got new wheels and after they're on the light hasn't gone away. the position sits behind the wheel face instead of the front like normal wheels so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

Make sure your pressure reading is when the tire is cold. Pump them to 35-36psi, and drive it for 5 miles. If the light is not off during this period of time, you need to pay a visit to your dealer to have them reflash or replace them.

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

My dealer said my tires were underinflated. I say yeah right...
Seems to only happen when it gets cold outside - freezing temp.

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

This is not Titan related but it's on the same issues. My fiance's Toyota 4-Runner had the low pressure light came on this morning (temp. dropped here last night). Anyway I stop by a shop and had them put air in all the tires, light still on. We checked all the tires and put in a little more air, light still on, me and him both say WTF. Another guy came by and said "spare tire", huh? Well we checked the spare tire and it was only 22 PSI, put air in the spare and the light went away. How the heck did the system know the spare was low on air? Not sure if our Titans work the same.

You think the spare. The manual says that the truck does not pickup the spare?
I could be wrong. I will check tomorrow...

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

Yeah I'm not sure about the Titan, it's just that was the situation with the 4-Runner so I though I would throw that out.

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

Same thing also happened to me today. Pulled in to the dealer since tires were cold. They put air in the tires and stated the light will turn off in about 15 miles. Sure enough it did. That alarm scared the heck out me!

I looked under the truck at the spare. Too much work to get the spare off and tested. Plus it is fricken cold here. I wait till my apptment at the dealer tomorrow night.
By the way...should I take out my CAI and put back my factory airbox..I dont want the dealer to itch

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

The spare tire doesn't have a sensor. If you have rotated your tires and included the spare in the rotation then it would be worth checking the spare.

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

I went to Family video to take back a video game and the tire pressure sensor came on also. It is about 0 degrees here. I check all four tires and they were all at 30 psi. Pulled into a local gas station and filled up to 37 psi on all tires. About 10 seconds after I pulled out of the gas station the light went out. At least this time the sensors worked right.

Re: Tire pressure sensor..???

If these are new wheels they need to be reflashed by the dealer. They reset the sensors to match the unit. Done with a computer gizmo. I got a new set of wheels and they had to be shot with the computer before this issue cleared.

Seems wierd but it worked.
