There's Nothing Left For Me Now

As many of you are aware I have a SQUEAKY passenger seat. I tried turning up the radio but I got a headache after a couple hours. I tried fixing it myself to no avail.

The SQUEAKY Seat TSB was my last hope.

I've just been informed that the TSB affects only leather and I have an SE 4X4 w/Off Road.

My only option now is to keep some weight on the passenger seat because it only SQUEAKS when it's empty.

These weigh 80lbs but they cost 7k. Any other ideas.

Re: There's Nothing Left For Me Now

Have you tried disassembling the seat and checking the torque on the various bolts/nuts, or adding some lube, felt, or pads?

Have you tried one of these? You would need someone to drive while you did this but it would probably work. I would lay on the floor in the back seat and touch everything you can see with this tool.

Re: There's Nothing Left For Me Now

I think you were given some bad info, there are two different TSB's for seats and one of them was for leather. This one doesn't mention leather seats.

Wether there's a TSB or not, I think the dealer owed it to you to fix the squek. There are other minor things I have gotten the dealer to fix and there's no TSB on those. You bought a new vehicle and don't deserved to be left high and dry.

Re: There's Nothing Left For Me Now

I've had the tsb that adds rivets to the track bar done. I have a 05' SE with cloth seats. It worked great, 3 weeks and counting. Mine only made when someone was in the seat though.

Re: There's Nothing Left For Me Now

I had the dealer perform the TSB that P's Titan mentioned and the squeak hasn't come back yet and it has been about a month. I had the same problem where the pass seat would squeak when I hit bumps in the road and no one was in it.
Good Luck.

Re: There's Nothing Left For Me Now

I had the tsb done on my 05 se w/off road pkg and cloth seats and it solved the problem, no more noise.

I do not recomend doing this yourself. I've done many and they are a headache. Let your warranty do what it's supposed to do. I've stopped trying to disassemble seats and adding lube. I just order new seat frames. Tech Line also recomends replacing seat frames.

Ditto on that.....only I did the TSB myself to ensure that it was done correctly.
