Question Squeaky dash, not seat

I did a search (typed squeak and rattle) and I could only find stuff about a dash rattle and seat squeak, but not dash squeak. Anyway, when I'm driving under any conditions and my truck goes over any bumps, I hear a squeak from the dash area. The main problem is that I can't pinpoint it. When I'm driving it sounds like it's coming from the defrost vent right in the middle, but if I lean right or have a passenger listen is sounds like it's coming from the very left of the vent. My thought is it could be the factory styrafoam (sp?) stuff in between the front windshield and the dash because it sounds like when you get wet rubber and rub it against metal or glass or something, only it's not quite that annoying. Thanks for any help.

I have the same complaint about the dash and to include my passenger seat. That is my only disappointment with the truck yet.

Also my sole complaint. It just bothers the crap out of me, I have no idea where the stupid squeak is other than the dash! At least I'm not the only one...

I have the same problem. I am going to spend some time this weekend to try and locate the rattle.

Re: Squeaky dash, not seat

There is a squeak where the instrument lens meets the dash pad. If you push lightly on it while it is making noise it stops. You can put a small piece of soft sided velcro or felt between the two. hope this helps.
