Guys,
Do you have a slip in the drivetrain when first pulling out slowly, its like a shimmy or like the driveshaft turns before the rear end and tires do. Like a slip-yoke thing. Next time you pull out of a stop, see if you feel that studder or whatever you call it. almost like you tell the thing to go, it seems like it should move, but does not for a split second and then goes, it seems like its a shake off the line or something. hard to describe it!

Re: Problem: weird slip when pulling out
Yup! I noticed that a couple of weeks ago. Almost like somthing is in the front of the bed and slides to the back and hits the tailgate. Or like a lash or slop in the drivetrain. See other posts about rear end failures. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck to you.
Mine does that a little, especially after coming to a quick stop. Seems that tranny needs a moment to catch up. Lately i've had a clunk. Like there is more than a little slop in drivetrain. Slow down then touch gas clunk.
Yeah, There are some rear end failures, must have had major failure at once and overall there really haven't been that many confirmed cases. Mine is any early 04' and it has always (at slow to moderate) accelleration had a slight "sink" feeling in the rear suspension. good luck!

I get a similar thing, but only seems to happen when backing up, only on occasion though. had the dealer change to synthetic, for a little extra precaution though in the rear diff. Not sure if this helps yet, just had it done the other day.

FYI there have been a lot of confirmed failures on the Titan's rear Diff. Just read the largest tread on this site and many others like it! you will quickly realize this is not an isolated case or an example of abuse. I am taking my in today for the second. At least this time I can drive it there.
I your way too excited that yours has not gone out. It will. I am sure the slop is contributing to the failues. For example In extreem cases when towing imagine how much stress is added to the diff gears when it goes for slop to pulling 7k lbs. My recomendation is to take it in to the dealer and have them check it out. have them service the rear end. It should be under warranty. If you have an 04 there is a TSB to replace the old steel diff cover and the new fanned aluminum cover.
Oh...this thread is about trucks... Based on the title I was gonna recommend going easy on the KY next time.
