Wierd "Wooshing" Sound

I'm not too sure how to accurately describe the wierd sound my truck makes, but I'm wondering if it's a normal thing that all Titans do. I hear this kind of whooshing sound from the glove box area. Sounds like coffee brewing or something. Or maybe air escaping a vent. Or the sound effect that they used for the doors on Star Trek. It happens quite often, but only very momentarily (like 2-4 seconds at a time).
Is this normal? If so, what the hell is it? It's not terrible, but it bugs me!

Re: Wierd "Wooshing" Sound

The only "whooshing'' sound I hear is the money "whooshing" out of my pocket every time I floorboard it.

Re: Wierd "Wooshing" Sound

I know exactly what you are talking about. It does sound like the doors opening or closing on Star Trek. I have an 06 with the dual climate control and I think it has something to do with the AC. I only notice it with the AC on. I didn't think I was crazy, but it is kind of cool.....Makes me feel like Captain Kirk when I'm sitting in the captains chair and I hear that sound.

Give 'er more power Scotty!

My Chevy Silverado 2500, Ford Sporttrac, and my Tacoma, made/make a similar noise. I was told it is related to the AC/Recirc. system, and is common accross makes and is a normal occurrence. Hope that helps.

Re: Wierd "Wooshing" Sound

I figured it something to do with the a/c. I haven't really investigated it with the a/c on and off yet, but I do tend to leave the defroster on low most of the time. It shouldn't bug me as much as it does, but I guess I'm just extra cautious since I read about how everyone's trucks keep breaking. Mine's been problem free since I bought it used almost two months ago.
It was actually a **gulp** lemon law buyback that the nissan dealer repaired and sold to me. It was bought back by nissan because the original owner had brought it in several times for brake work - prior to the "big fix". They didn't have the parts yet, so they bought it back. It sat there at the dealership for almost 6 months waiting for the brake fix. They finally fixed it and put it back up for sale with an extended warranty and a separate brake warranty. I snatched it a few days after it was put back up for sale. It's an LE crew cab, fully loaded with leather and all the bells/whistles, and it only had 14k miles on it. Got it for $21k. I love the truck but worry about the fact that it's a lemon. Then I worry even more when I come on here and read all the complaints! =-(

Re: Wierd "Wooshing" Sound

The Coolant flows through something like a condenser behind the glove box and it will time to time have a "wooshing" sound but is pretty normal... my 2005 Titan
does it my 2000 frontier did it and my 1997 jeep wrangler did it so....
