RANT (Dealer Service - Littleton Nissan)
I get home from the dealership after having the brake recall done to find a notice in the mail that my trailer wiring harness has also been recalled. The dealership had the titan all day for this brake repair and could have taken care of this in the same day. (rant)
So, with disgust I schedule another trip to the dealership to let them fix the trailer wiring harness. While there I figure that I will also get the oil changed. The dealership said that this was a 4 hour repair.
While my truck was in for service, I was given a loaner car and off to work I go.
I took the loaner car to work and when I see the car after lunch, I notice some significant damage to the rear fender. I was a bit shocked - thinking that this occurred while the car was in my position. So, I called the dealership to see if there was any known damage to this car. The service rep indicated that none of the loaner cars are damaged and he told me to file a police report.
After discussing the matter in great detail with a police officer, he asked if there was any evidence of parts on the ground. To my surprise there were none. He recommended that I take the car to the dealership and find out if a previous damage report had been filed. While at the dealership the service rep noticed rust on the car… I was relieved to find out that this damage was due to a previous event. However, it was concerning that they didn’t notify me of this damage when I called to find out a damage report. They had no apparent record of previous damage to this loaner car. (poor record keeping)
So, when all is said and done I go to my Titan to find that the hood of the vehicle had been dented. The service manager tells me that it is impossible to damage this with the palm of the hand, it must have been there before or damaged by a tool. He said, “these hoods are really strong and its almost impossible to damage it.“ After further discussion, he agrees to do a painless dent repair on the hood. ((I have serious reservations about the integrity of the metal after doing this repair. Will the hood be more likely to get a dent after this repair?? What about the integrity of the paint??? Will it hold up in the long run???)
Anyway I am on my way home and hear “weird clicking” noises when turning the steering wheel. I look underneath the dash to find the new wiring harness with papers and a zip tie rubbing against my steering column. After contacting the dealership they tell me to bring it in for repair. I have no confidence in this dealership.
