Tire Pressure Sensor problem

I sure hope this problem has a satisfactory conclusion. Since new, my 2005 Titan has had this warning light illuminate during long drives at Interstate speeds; stay on for 30 minutes, go off, then illuminate again for a short period of time, etc. Each time at the dealer for oil changes, I've mentioned this problem, and just kinda get poo-pooed.

Tomorrow I have an appointment only for this specific problem. I went thru the dealer's complaint process, and service is going to try and trouble-shoot this issue. The dealer knows all about TitanTalk.com, and I've read thru the 300+ entries about this problem. I want the problem fixed. If they can't fix it, I want a letter from them acknowledging the problem and the fact that I've told them about it for a year.

If this approach doesn't remedy the problem, I plan on elevating it to Nissan and an area representative for solution.

Dealers are so short-sighted, they don't realize how damaging word-of-mouth complaints throughout the local community work. I did not have a pleasant experience when I purchased this truck; it was six hours of hell. They tried to lowball me on my trade-in, and my only salvation was my having a printout from KBB on the true value of my Dodge. We did finally agree on a price, but they misrepresented my Titan by telling me it had heated seats, when it didn't. They remedied that error by giving me lifetime oil changes, which I thought was fair.

Thanks for hearing my rambling!!

Re: Tire Pressure Sensor problem

The dealer inspected and accessed the Tire Pressure Monito Ring system, no fault codes present. All sensors currently showing calibration. Test drove, and each sensor came on line each time. Went ahead and did a full system clear and recalibrated at this time just to be sure. Unquote.

Re: Tire Pressure Sensor problem

My light comes on every month and a half. Took it to the dealer 3 times, first time they couldn't figure anything wrong and just fill it up with air. 2nd time, they said the valve was a little loose so they tighten it. 3rd time, they suggested I take it to a local tire store and have them pressure test it, dunk it in water to see where the leak may be coming from!!! WTF!!! I have to do the trouble shooting now!!!

Re: Tire Pressure Sensor problem

Had a similar problem with Pro Comp wheels on my Titan. Had air leaks in all four tires on and off for several weeks. Eventually after much disgust I had regular valve stems put on. No more problem. Of course the dealer blamed it on the wheels, but they did pay for all valve stems. Big whoop...

Re: Tire Pressure Sensor problem

My light also would come on during long drives even though my air pressure was high.....the service writer at the dealership couldn't do anything about it so I ignored it...when I upgraded my rolling stock, I put all my sensors in a Crown Royal bag inside my glove compartment and I have become friends with my little yellow idiot light.
