Titan Paint & Other Misc.

About a year ago I took my 2004 Titan through a touchfree carwash, when i was drying it I noticed that about a Quarter sized part of the paint on my bumper was missing. As the truck was going up to the dealer anyway for a steering wheel vibration (not the brake judder problem) I figured I could tell them and they would take care of it. The service mgr came out and said that it must have started as a stone chip but that he would take car of it (I was presuming incorrectly it turns out under warranty) Well we are a year plus down the road and I still have the same part of my bumper paint missing. It was due to go in "again" for the paint to be done today. Well as has happened in the past the weather is not clement enough to do the paint job as it is done "outside" because the dealer does not have a spray booth. I called and spoke to the mgr and told him I wish for another dealer to do this repair, I was informed by the mgr that he was doing this as a "favour" as he did not believe that it was a warranty issue. The service people in this dealership (somewhere in NE, in the Portsmouth kind of area) were very rude to my wife, bottom line the truck still has it's paint missing, the vibration is still there (only when you turn left hand corners) and I got the truck back with no work being done to it. I am not a happy camper, love the truck but the service is one of the worst I have ever come across, I am wondering how Nissan can have the best service, in their Infiniti division, and the worst service, in their Nissan division of all the dealers in the USA.

A lot depends on your service area. I was fortunate to have 10 dealers within 20 miles of my home.

Re: Titan Paint & Other Misc.

my personal oppinion of the paint on my Titan is that it sucks! Seems to scratch way too easily. Had a few dealer issues too. Called Nissan America's customer service and got somewhere in freakin' Packistan or India. Nissan's 1-800 cust svc # SUCKS! There is no one American to speak to other than the local dealer.

Re: Titan Paint & Other Misc.

Still waiting for the dealer to do the the paint, have escalated the proble to the Area Mgr who seems to have at least a small clue about customer service. The dealership has called to say that they will have two people standing by next week to paint my truck, there will be a car waiting for me and the rest of the probs. including the vibration will be looked at, i am not holding my breath but I have a glimmer of hope. Nissan service sucks so bad it put me off the company and i went out and bought a Yoda, hopefully they have better service, or even better the vehicle never requires it.
