Water on floor/carpet - Driver side

A lot of people seem to have this problem, and man it can be a nasty one too. I found out by doing this - peeled back the carpet on the drivers side floor, and found what I would call knockouts (electricians term). They are about the size of a quarter, and they are in the floorpan itself. They are not sealed. There are 3 that I found. Water splashes up under the truck when driving in rain, and enters the floorpan through these impressions that are actually cut into the floor. The carpet and padding wick the water right up. Voila, wet carpet, and stinking truck. I apllied clear silicone to these and dried the carpet, and put baking soda under the padding as I finished. Problem solved.

Re: Water on floor/carpet - Driver side

Fixed, unless you have mold growing in your padding underneath the carpet and a/c system from the water.

Re: Water on floor/carpet - Driver side

Can you indicate the locations of the offending knockouts on Sammy's photo?
